@Kateski: I think you would be surprised at how many wedding dress arent actually “true” white anymore. and in all honesty i think only a few people can pull off the bright white. IMO i think your dress would look gorgeous in ivory, you are right, it would look more “rich” and i think it would match better with the beige/tan theme you have going.

My dress was ivory as well and you cant tell!! (atleast i dont think so) 🙂

I say white. I don’t think it is cheap looking and will look best in the summer. I love the dress!

I based my decision of white versus ivory on my skin tone.  I’m very fair skinned so white would have washed me out.  Here’s a link to a post by a bee that has this dress if it helps any.

bridal ivory tends to look pretty white as long as you’re not comparing it directly to a white dress, and it’s a much more flattering color for most skintones. can you try on another jasmine dress in white to get an idea of the color? however, most of the bridal salons i went to said they don’t even carry white samples because so few brides can really pull it off.

If you like it better in Ivory, then go for it! However then you may want eveything else Ivory then so it coordinates, like tablecloths, flowers, paper for invites, programs etc. etc.

I am doing Ivory, it is much more flattering on me. Some people can pull off white nicely, but I found it washed me out.

I almost always perfer Ivory to White as long as it’s not too yellow (that wouldn’t be good on my skin).  My dress is ivory, but it really is just a touch off from white.  As far as looking more rich, I think it depends on the material the dress is made out of.  I say go ivory.

And we are date twins! We picked it because it’s a full moon!

I’m doing ivory as well. Before I went dress shopping, I thought I would go for diamond white. But after I tried on “the dress” I held it up to a diamond white and didn’t like it at all! The ivory looked so much better. The diamond white was way to bright for me.

On a side note, I was told that my Fiance would need to wear an ivory shirt with his tux. I would have never even thought of that!

It depends on the designer honestly, I too only tried on my dress in Ivory and noticed that it was a totally different shade than other Ivory dresses in the store. The same thing with white some designers “white” is so bright that it can almost look blue. I made the decision after they pulled another dress from the same collection in diamond white so I could see the actual shade of the fabric.

@Kateski: I think coloration just varies person to person.  She looks gorgeous in the white but she’s also a lot tanner than I am so I couldn’t pull it off like she could.  If you feel more comfortable in the ivory then go for that one.

I agree with the others who said ivory…it will still look white, but it’s an easier color to wear.
