Hi there Bees!
I guess this is my first post here! I have been reading along for a while now, but the 1th of january I was proposed to, so it’s getting all real now and I can start planning our wedding 😉
As a lot of you I am too very excited to find my dream wedding dress. I guess I kind of know what style I want, but it is an even harder question if I should go all white or off white with the dress color?
I always loved blues, blacks, whites and greys, because they suite me best, which would sound like I would have a cool undertone. But that’s the thing, I feel like I have a yellowish undertone and so did a make up artist say to me one time.
So I took two pictures, one with a beige pants (it realy was the only warm colored item in my closet) and one with a white one. Can you guys help me choosing what suits me best?
Thank you! (sorry if I make any spelling mistakes, English isn’t my first language)
Photo 1: white
Photo 2: off white/beige

Haha your photo ideas were so cute. They both honestly look fine. For some reason though the white pops more and doesn’t dull your whole look. I don’t know if any of that even made sense, but it did in my head! I like the white better, but either way you go you won’t look bad 🙂

@LotteA: I probably shouldn’t have voted because I think both colors look equally as beautiful against you. Congrats, and have fun planning your wedding!

Hmmm split… Wait until you try on to decide- embellishments can really make a difference. I also tried on a white dress with a blush overlay and it was so different from blush on blush

Look at your makeup. In the first picture it looks like your wearing Brown’s on you eyes but in the second picture it appears to be plums. The first one you look more tan. The second one your hair and face are brighter. Honestly, the white white seems to draw your eye to the white whereas the off white the eye is drawn to your face.

Wow, I wasn`t expecting responses so fast! Thank you, this is fun! 🙂
It is hard in’t it? Maybe I`m one of the rare ‘neutral’ toned girls 😉

It’s hard to say which looks better, as the colours in each each image look different…so I’m not sure if it is the pants making your skin tone look different, or the colour tone in the image. You know what I mean?
I think your best bet is to try on dresses and see what is more flattering!

I can’t tell because if you look in the photo where you’re holding the white, the wall color looks beige, but if you look at the wall color with where you’re holding the off white pants, the walls look grey, so that tells me the camera isn’t being true. In these pictures I do like the white better (although both look great) but I don’t think the pictures are showing it accurately because the walls are 2 diferent colors so that tells me that the camera is picking up different hues in the 2 pictures so that will affect how your face appears and it has nothing to do with the colors you’re holding.

The color of the wall in the background is different in the two photos so I am hesitant to vote as the other colors will vary as well. When you try on dresses be aware of the lighting in the store – different “color” lights will affect how your dress looks and how you look. If your wedding is planned for outdoors try to stand near a window to get an idea of how the dress looks in natural light. And if you can find a store which allows photographs you will know how the dress looks in a photo!!
And a very warm welcome to the Bee!!!! 🙂

I love these two photos of you – you are adorable! Honestly, both colors look fabulous on you, and that doesn’t happen for many people. I do think the white pops just a bit better on your skin tone, but either way looks gorgeous!

I think you look great in white! I do not, so more power to you 🙂

It`s so true, the camera adjusted the light between the two pictures! Woops 🙂

@LotteA: I think the different fabrics threw off the white balance on your camera, they’ve changed the coloring of your face, but I think with your skin tone you could pull off either. One thing I noticed when dress shopping was that even start whites varied between designers. Wtoo white was almost blue on me, some whites looked almost ivory, some ivories looked more yellow, I think it’ll really depend on the designer you pick. But you’re totally gorgeous so I think whatever color you choose you’ll look beautiful. Have fun dress shopping!

Haha, somehow, I missed the poll!
