Hi bees, I could use some help with this….I’ve found some beautiful pearl jewelery that I love but I can only order them in white pearls. My dress is ivory and I’m wondering if it will clash with the white pearls. Has anyone worn something like this, pics would be greatly appreciated!

I think it might depend on the actual shade of ivory and the detailing on your dress. Every dress designer has their own version of ivory. Some are more of a cream while others have a yellow undertone.
Would you be able to post a picture of your dress and a link to the jewelry? Are the pearls a bright white?

i have to say, i’ve never seen a real pearl that was pure white. are they natural pearls or glass?

My dress is an off-white light ivory and I bought white pearls to go with it. It looks great. It’s weird, they tend to match the shade of white/ivory you put with them! So as long as your dress isn’t a dark ivory i think it’ll match well.

@purplemoon: If the dress is a lighter ivory (the one that’s all-but white) it’s probaby not going to matter too much, but if it’s veering into the champagne shades, the white might stand out. Not clash necessarily, but stand out.
The contrast might even look nice, like how an ivory sash complements a white dress with just that little pop of color.
Check the return policy on the jewelry–if you can send it back for a refund after it comes in, take a chance and compare the two side by side.

@atlas.wed: This is true! I pulled mine out to see how white they were and the pearls are quite reflective.

agree, maybe you could post a picture of the jewelry and your gown to show us?
