Hi
Im in a bit of a pickle, we have 110 guests coming to our garden wedding.
I have found white plastic chairs for hire @ $2.00 each or Beautiful white resin chairs at $6.50 each which clearly are more aesthetic but alot more expensive SO..
Do i go with the cheaper less appealing option in effort to seat all my guests or do i go with the resin chairs but only seat our families (70 guests) and have friends standing?
I don’t know what is worse, not seating everyone or having ugly chairs?
HELP

I never really pay attention to what the chairs look like… as long as they are not those gymnasium taupe metal foldout chairs, I think the the cheaper option will look fine!!

I think it’s a tie! Not sitting everyone is super rude but ugly ass chairs just kill the vibe for me. If you can live with the chairs then go for it. But I’d look into cutting cost elsewhere to rent the chairs. I’m sure some bees will disagree & say it’s a waste of money (it totally is) but those plastic chairs are just plain tacky.

@beautifullyboheamian: everyone should have a chair. No one cares what they look like as long as they have a place to sit.

How long is your ceremony going to be?
I think if its fairly short 70 seats would be fine, I don’t think I would necessarily cut it by family/not family though. Maybe just have someone sort of spread the word that some people will have to stand, that way people who might feel uncomfortable/incapable of standing can sit without feel like they are breaking the rules.

Unfortunately, I think you have to provide seating for all of your guests.

Just get the plastic chairs. You can spruce them up and no one will notice. Honestly. They’ll be sittin in them an hour max.

I don’t think the plastic chairs are a huge deal. I had them, and thought they were just fine.

once people are sitting down youll barely see the chairs in photos. i personally think guests standing/milling around looks messy and doesnt make for nice photos
and i think its a bit off only seating your families. people will be offended

Do you have pics? I’ve seen some plastic chairs that were just fine, and some that were……somewhat less so.

Yers thats true would never want to offend any of my guest and personally i think half seated half standing would look messy in photos, im leaning toward plastic chairs i just wanted thoughts as i dont want to look cheap (but on a budget its hard)

@beautifullyboheamian: Perfectly fine for an outdoor wedding in my opinion.
I don’t like the idea of seating family and letting friends stand! It is ok, though, to only have limited seating for older / pregnant guests, especially if it’s a short ceremony. I’ve been to at least 3 outdoor weddings like that.

Not sure if this link works but that is the kind of plastic chair most companies here are offering
