I ordered my wedding dress in ivory. Since the dress looked like off-white or white in the store, I ordered my dream shoes (from a different store) in white. The dress finally arrived two weeks ago, and it looked much more ivory than in store. Now I can easily tell the color difference between my dress and my shoes! Do white shoes make my ivory dress look dirty? Should I get it dyed in ivory? Help!

I don’t think it would make your dress look DIRTY exactly, but I don’t think it would complement your gown’s color best. Could you dye the white shoes a darker metallic shade like gold or champagne?

i had a similar issue. my dress wasn’t very ivory in the store and my mom thought the white shoes i picked out matched the dress until we held it up she realized that the dress was in fact ivory so the shoes needed to by dyed. could you take them to get dyed ivory? it only costs a few dollars at most places and doens’t take long.

If they aren’t…..and they’re your dream shoes, I’m of the opinion that it doesn’t matter that much assuming your gown is floor length. Not many people are going to be staring at your shoes, especially if they’re covered by your dress most of the time.

Take the shoes back if they have a return policy and take a swatch of the dress w/you to match it. Call before you go to the shoe store and explain what happened. I’m sure the store owner will have a heart and let you exchange the shoes, providing you didn’t wear them!
Let us know what happened!
