I bought this dress and not sure if I want to keep it or buy a new one. In the mean time, I am trying to see which options might make my dress better on me. The skirt has pleats and I was wondering if I should sew the outer pleats to give it more a less puffy appearance. What do you think?

Looks like you are comparing apples to apples to me.

They look so similar! I can’t choose – they look the same to me.

@Captain013: I did some photoshop in the first pic and I remove the puffy outer sides of the skirt, where you see I used the brush tool to remove them. It is a small change but to me it makes a difference…

@raggiosole: I see the difference, it is just not a big difference. It may be something you notice. Do you want a slimmer dress that doesn’t have more poof? You may need to try on a slimmer fit dress, unless you want a princess gown? Sorry Im a little confused :S
They both look poofy to me. The one on the right gives more of a hourglass shape though.

I like the one on the left. They both look really similar. I chose the left version, because it looks more streamlined to me. I think it’s really personal opinion though. I’m not drawn to the more princess gowns, but lots of ladies absolutely love them. Just different strokes. Which version do you love? How much work would it be to eliminate some of the pouf? What would it cost? Those might be factors too, but I don’t know. I’d also consider how the dress would move if you sew the outer pleats. It may lose some of the movement, but I can’t sew a stitch so I shouldn’t even be guessing at this.I think you look great in both versions.

It’s really hard to see any difference. To be quite honest with you, now that I’ve seen the other dress in your mind, it’s hard to evaluate this dress. I just don’t feel like it compares…sorry!
