I am going crazy trying to decide whether we should do white or ivory shirts for our groomsmen.
Our groomsmen will be wearing charcoal grey suits with slate blue (caspian blue) ties to match our bridesmaid dresses which are from J.Crew in caspian blue. My dress is ivory lace from Modern Trousseau and I will attach a picture.
The problem I am having is that the ivory/ecru shirts I can find to buy look very yellow and kind of dirty. I did take them to my dress fitting and they obviously matched the color of my dress better than pure white. When I asked my fiance about the shirt he said it looked like he left it in his hockey bag for 6 months.
I don’t want out groomsmen to look like they are wearing dingy shirts but I also don’t want their shirts to make my dress look dirty.
My dress: (The darker spot in the leg area is also being fixed, so the color will be uniform)

I would put them in white shirts– there will be enough of a color gap between them and your dress that it wont be noticable.

I know what you mean! My dress is ivory as well (a darker ivory, I think, too), and I asked the groomsmen to buy ivory shirts. They found some really nice looking ones that weren’t dingy and yellow-y at Macy’s. They just got them the other day, so I can check the brand for you later if you’d like.

@sarahbabs: Yes, that would be great! I just went last night to Macy’s but I couldn’t find anything. Thanks!

I would put them in white shirts.
On an unrelated note, your user name is your email and also seemingly your full name. You should probably change it to something less identifiable. 🙂

We went with the ivory b/c it matched my dress perfectly and the white looked crazy unmatching next to my dress. I feel bad b/c I know everyone likes white shirts as opposed to ivory but I don’t want to not match. So we’ll just hope they look great regardless and hopefully photograph white enough to not look creamy. Good luck! We’re getting married this weekend so I’ll know how well it worked after that!

I have been considering the same question, and I think we are going with white shirts for the groomsmen. Ivory can look too yellowy to me, which I do not like. My gown is a dark almost antique ivory color. I am not afraid of my dress looking dirty; I think it will be obvious that it is ivory. I hope, anyway!
But @sarahbabs I’d love to know which brand you bought, too! Maybe we will do that instead…

Hey ladies! I finally remembered to ask about the shirts – they are by Tasso Elba, at Macy’s. I’m, not sure if this is the shirt they bought, but it looks similar:
