dollmann :  I don’t think colours of gold is a “fad”!

In 2016 we have more choice, that’s all. Pick what you love. Who would ever get “tired” of their engagement ring?????

For reference, here is my rose gold ring:

Rose gold is not a new fad, it’s been around forever, as the other gold colors. Pick the color you love the most.  You are more likely to get tired of the style of your ring than the gold color it is made of.

I have both rose and white gold.  I’ve tried yellow, but I just can’t get on board with it.  White is probably my favourite for ease of matching, but there is something about rose gold.

For me I love yellow gold. I guess because I have grown up with it and its the only colour my family all wear.

I only have one rose gold ring,  something different of my dad for my 30th birthday.

I do like white but  needs re dipping

dollmann :  It’s easy to get sick of something if it’s chosen because it’s trendy or one lets trends — things that are bound to change — influence one’s long-term choices. That’s how many people operate when it comes to jewelry. It’s all about your genuine preferences. If you like rose gold get it.

Besides, it’s not actually new. Rose Gold has an interesting and beautiful history that is worth looking up.

Rose gold has been around for a very long time, however, it has never been popular enough to rival yellow or white gold. Everytime I see rose gold, I think it looks like low karat yellow gold that has discolored. I realize that is my issue, but while I consider yellow and white metals to be timeless, I still see rose gold (or green gold or other colors) to be fads that come and go. Still and all, if you love it, don’t let some jewelry store employee affect what you will wear daily for the rest of your life. It isn’t her decision, and it isn’t mine. It is your finger and your choice, so go with what you love.

My boyfriend wanted me to get a platinum ring, but I picked yellow gold. He even asked the salesperson if platinum can be dipped in yellow gold 🙂 My sister was aghast at the thought of yellow gold, but once I tried on the different ring metals I stuck with what I liked. Fashion recycles and eventually what was old is new again so go with your style and personal preference.

I love them all. Except white gold is a no go in everyday rings for me. platinum all the way. All the colors of metal will go in and out of style over the decades so just get what you like.

I chose white gold personally! But it all depends on what other kinds of jewelry you wear. If you think rose gold will match with your other jewelry and you have had youir heart set on it, I would go for it! It flatters a lot of skin tones as well 🙂

I have white gold but honestly have been wearing all yellow gold recently in terms of my other jewelry! I was anti yellow gold when I got engaged and now i love it.  Trends, your taste, etc will all change.  Just choose something you love today knowing it may not be your first choice forever but it was what you wanted at the time you got married.

I’m also a fan of rose gold and am considering it for either a wedding band to go with my white gold e-ring. Or RHR. I’d be more worried about how it looks against your skintone than if it’s trendy or not.

blushbliss :  Drooling over all your gorgeous rings! Where did you get the floral band at the bottom of your finger? It’s dreamy as hell!
