Ooh! White chocolate, coconut, lime (coconut frosting!), lemon, or almond. Pretty much any flavoring extract (or juice) that is colorless would work. You could also try a cake with rosewater.

You can have multiple flavors without having to ask cake flavor preference.  As long as you have enough cake that everyone can get one slice then you are fine.  If you were to have 3 flavors and you ran out of one, oh well, the guests will just have to pick from the other two remaining flavors.  The main thing is that you have enough cake for everyone.

I think your Fiance needs to get over the whole “white means purity” crap because it doesn’t mean that at all.

So why not have the “boring” white cake (which I think, when done right is pretty freaking amazing), red velvet and then something “crazy.”  This way he gets what he wants and you get what you want.  First compromise of your new marriage 😉

Champagne!  Tried a cake tasting that had champagne flavor white cake, and then some sort of lemon creme frosting that was very light.  Perfect combo to us and both were light/white colored.  (we didn’t go with that baker, but loved the ideas!)

liaeona:  When is your wedding? Ours is in November and one tier of our cake is going to be vanilla with a apple cinnamon cream cheese filling – SO GOOD! And very seasonal.

We had two flavors in our cake, but the white cake was tiramisu and it was delicious!!

maybe you could texturize the cake and add some flowers?  maybe you could make the filling a different color…

I love the multible sheet cake idea!  You could have more choices and guest love trying something different.  Every wedding i have been to with multiple choices I have never been disappointed! Remember you can just eliminate food coloring and eggwhites to make almost anyflavor white cake!

-White Almond Cake- fillin choices: rasberry filling, lemon whipped custard, fresh strawberries, chocolate ganache, caramel apple

– White pineapple- Filling choices: Pineapple upside down: coconut cream: cherries, Rum poke with buttercream icing

-White key lime – Filling choices : key lime custard, coconut, buttercream

-White chocolate- Anything!

-Lemon -filling- blueberries

White chocolate sounds awesome to me. Some amaretto and lemon cakes are white, too.

We had coconut and lime as one layer. It is my all time favorite flavor of cake!!
