Does anyone know the origins of the white wedding dress? I heard it has nothing to do with purity at all. Quenn Victoria of England wore a white wedding dress, and then all the “ladies of fashion” wanted to do likewise, and then it worked it’s way down to the masses.
Anyone know anything definitive about the history?

@Carolsays: I think it is a newer custom, I have read that orignally a women would just wear her best dress, and that it took after some royal made it the norm(much like the diamondd engagment ring rather then just a stone of someones choosing) so i think you are right on why white took over the norm I don’t remember the details though
Mind you cool fact b4 white blue was a symbol of purity and often worn but many cultures had their own colours and meanings behind them
