Tip anyone who is working for someone else. If they are working for themselves (are their own boss), they are pocketing all the money and therefore you do not need to tip.

On top of the gratuity that was included in the cost of the venue (bartenders, wait staff) we tipped the hair dresser, make up person, the flower delivery guy, a small tip for the alter servers, the limo drivers, each member of the band, the photographer, the videographer.  It was a bit much I have to say.  I did read online that you were supposed to tip your officient but we had a catholic mass and paid the donation.  I think our priest would have not appreciated if we tried to give money just for him.

@asianyoushi:  I know the rule of thumb is you don’t tip someone who owns their own business, but they are still providing a service so I still tipped them. Yes, you already paid their fees, but isn’t that the same with food when you go to a restaurant? You already paid for your meal which includes the wages of the server, so why do you still tip the waiter even if the waiter owns the restaurant?

My photographer, videographers, and make up artist are all the owners of the business. I guess since I have a lot of friends in the service industry (retail, food, photographers) that I know how they feel when they don’t get tipped so I tip everyone.

Oh! and yes, I forgot, we tipped our officiant and DJ as well. Both also owned the business.

WITH MY LAST WEDDING, i TIPPED NO ONE EXCEPT FOR MY HAIR DRESSER. vENDORS CHARGE PLENTY FOR THEIR SERVICES AND i SAW NO REASON TO TIP.
