There are different designers for different price ranges.

What is your price range?

I am not very into fashion designers, so I don’t really know who the top would be or what that means really. I think it depends on how much you want to spend! I think there are beautiful dresses at all price ranges.

I wanted an all lace dress and ended up buying a watters dress. Love their designs.

When I was researching dresses I found it helpful to go on theknot dress search tool and plug in my price range. I was able to find designers who made dresses at prices I could afford. Good luck researching, the dress hunt is a fun one!

I love this post. It’s so confusing when you start looking, isn’t it? All these designers, some of them industry standards (just pick up any bridal mag and you’ll see what I mean), and some are up-and-comings.

I had a great experience looking on sites like “The Knot” and “Brides.com” or “Wedding Channel.com”. I’m sure I’ve seen every dress in creation by just looking around over the last few months. You’ll get an idea of their prices as well.

Happy shopping!

I’d second the suggestion for Blue by Enzoani. I love their dresses, and i think they’re some of the nicest in their price bracket.

“Top” is an interesting question, though…the most popular/prolific is probably Maggie Sottero.

But if your’re talking in terms of couture, then I would say the “top” designers, as in top of the field, top of their game, are Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang. There are others, too, like Angel Sanchez. Close behind them are people like Kenneth Pool, Priscilla of Boston Platinum, Jenny Packham.

Like with ordinary dresses, there are the couturiers and big design houses at the top, and then it comes down in steps all the way through high-end ready to wear, mid range high street, and then finally budget brands. (although with bridal gowns, “budget” is still pretty pricey, and usually still has pretty good construction/design)

You just have to pick your price band, and embrace it!
