- Wedding: May 2011 - Bartram's Garden
I’m sure that this has been asked a zillion times, so here’s a zillion and one. I was just curious who was doing a sweetheart table, who was doing a head table, and who was doing something else.
We’re not having either. The boy and I are going to sit at a regular table with our siblings and their spouses. The other members of our bridal party are going to sit at tables with their dates, families and/or friends.

We did a sweetheart table but it was really close to my side of the family so it wasn’t as if there was a spotlight on us. More comfortable for us.

We sat with our parents at a table for 6.

We’re doing appetizers and such instead of a sit down meal so seating will be fairly open and we’re hoping this leads to an ability to just float from place to place so hopefully we’ll be able to spend a little bit of time with everyone.

We are going to sit at a table with our parents (mine are divorced and remarried so I have 4 “parents”, and he doesn’t speak to his mom so it’ll just be his dad and step mom)…our bridal party will be at the table next to us with their dates/spouses/kids.

We are just having a sweetheart table. Too many of our Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen are married or have a long term SO. A head table was just not an option for us.

We did a head table with our wedding party, parents and SOs. We had a small wedding party, though, and only two people had SOs, so we had 14 people total at our head table. It was fine and we loved it.

@MissAsB – – I love that idea. I never thought of that nor have I ever seen that, gosh I really like that idea….
We are sitting with our wedding party at the head table. We are placing the head table on back of everyones – not in the front and not near the dance floor

We’re doing a sweetheart table with our wedding party and families surrounding us.

We are having a captain’s table instead of a head table or sweetheart table. Our bridal party and their significant others will be sitting with us.

We’re having a head table w/ our wedding party and their dates (plus one kid too). I guess that’s a captain’s table?

A Captain’s table is larger than the other tables but we sit on all side like the rest of the tables not just the one.

We’re thinking of sitting with our parents and each of our remaining grandmothers at a table for 8. I thought our wedding party would want to sit with their dates, but they’re raising fuss about not having a head table, so we’ll see.

we’re sitting with our parents. our bridal party have SOs and I figured they’d want to sit with them.
@sapphiresun: i think your original idea is so special. you should do that!!! you could make some sort of honorary table for your bridal party maybe?

We’ll have a sweetheart’s table, but I don’t plan on sitting too much that night.
