- Wedding: Gloucestershire, UK
I have four! One Maid/Matron of Honor, one Chief Bridesmaid (I know it’s tecnically the same thing, but you’ll understand why in a sec!), and two Bridesmaids.
My Maid/Matron of Honor was supposed to be my god parents daughter – I don’t have any family, all of them have died over the last 18 years or so. I asked my godfather (her dad) to walk me down the aisle and she threw a fit and said some very nasty things. Even if she apologised (which she would never do, as she’s never wrong), I don’t think I could ever trust her to be happy for us and stand up there with us on the day. We currently don’t speak at all. But…
Maid of Honour: Friends for almost 17 years! We went to school together and sort of lost touch for a couple of years throughout uni, but every time we’d see each other it was like we just saw one another last week. We’ve become super close since both moving back home for work and she’s been amazing during tons of drama with my sister.
Chief Bridesmaid: My adopted daughter. Future hubs and I took custody of my goddaughter a few years ago and have raised her since – she’s just turned 18. She wouldn’t want the responsibilities associated with Maid/Matron of Honor, but shes so important to us we needed to signify that, soooo Chief Bridesmaid.
Bridesmaid 1: We’ve known eachother about six years, we met at an awful student retail job whilst I was doing my undergrad and she was training to be a teacher. She kept me sane for the three years we worked together. We’ve not seen oneanother in about two years now – but talk all the time. She was the first person to call me after we got engaged to say congratuations!
Bridesmaid 2: One of my closest friends from uni. Met in our first year and sort of dragged eachother through our degrees.
I made super cute bridesmaids boxes for them which was fun/frustrating! We got engaged in January 2016, but I didn’t want to ask anyone until we knew for sure when the wedding would be – I asked my Maid/Matron of Honor in June and my other bridesmaids last month.
My Maid/Matron of Honor box:
I didn’t take any pics of my bridesmaids boxes, so these are the ones the girls took when they got delivered 🙂

The girls in my wedding party ….
I have a Matron of Honor, who is my godmother so I’ve known her my entire life.
I have a Maid of Honor, who is a good friend that I meet three years ago at a function I was volunteering at.
The two bridesmaids are my future sister-in-law and her daughter (who is in her 20s).
That’s all and that’s enough for me!

I have four bridesmaids… I asked them not long after we got engaged as I knew who I was going to ask since like before he and I even started dating haha.
My maid of honor is my aunt/best friend…she was at my birth, so that was when we met 😉 And my three bridesmaids I met in middle school and became really close with them in my junior year of high school, so we’ve known eachother maybe 12 years, but have been best friends more like 9 years or so. 🙂

I have 6 bridesmaids.
One is my Future Sister-In-Law (FI’a sister). One is my cousin who I am close to, one has been my best friend since middle school, two from high school (we were all three on dance team together) and one is my best friend from college who’s boyfriend (soon to be FI!) I’ve actually known since high school and will be my my FI’s groomsmen. I’ve stayed close to a lot of childhood friends!

I have a party of 5.
Maid/Matron of Honor – best friend, known for 6 years. Met through a friend, she is very good at keeping me calm when necessary!!!
Bridesmaid or Best Man #1 – other best friend! Known for 12 years, my biggest cheerleader.
Bridesmaid or Best Man #2 – Future Sister-In-Law (1) known for just over 5 years. Fiance is very close to his family and I knew this would be important to him – plus both of my FSILs are fun and we get on really well.
Bridesmaid or Best Man #3 – Future Sister-In-Law (2) also known for just over 5 years. She is FI’s baby sister (aged 21!). We get on really well, happy to have her along for the ride 🙂
Flower girl – my goddaughter, she will almost be 4 years old by the time the wedding rolls around. She is the daughter of Bridesmaid or Best Man #1 🙂
ETA – asked them all seperately, face to face. They were spread out over January (MOH) to April (BM #1) so that I could have my own little “moments” with them. It was nice but I do feel crappy when I see other people’s bridesmaid ‘proposals’!
