@caits615:  This is a delayed response, but I’m just now trying to find a place for my rehearsal dinner. We want to keep it in downtown Decatur, so I’m thinking Iberian Pig might be a good spot. If anyone knows of any other good spots in Decatur, please let me know! Preferably a place with a private or semi-private room that can accommodate around 30 people.

Also, does anyone have a day-of coordinator or hair/makeup artist they can recommend?

@caits615:  Seriously, the rehearsal dinner has blindsided me with a world of stress!!

Radial is a great spot, and although I’ve never eaten at any of the URestaurants, I’ve always heard good things.

Iberian Pig is great. I’m not a big meat eater, but they’ve got some good options for people like me and for vegetarians (we do have a couple in our wedding party).

Thanks for your help and best of luck to you!

@caits615:  Oh man, I can’t even imagine preparing for the GRE while planning a wedding, let alone everything else. I’m also on the hunt for a job and that takes up enough time and energy as it is. We’ll get through it!

@caits615:  I LOVE the U Restaurants. I used to live across the street from Fritti/Sotto Sotto. Sotto Sotto might be too small for a rehearsal dinner space though depending on how many people you have. I’ve seen a few rehearsal dinners at Fritti. They close out the patio area outside usually. It’s a little annoying because it’s also the entrance to the restaurant so if people are making toasts and things, people may be coming in and out. But the staff has tried both times to make sure that people are quiet.

We are still planning so we don’t have everyone yet, but for now we have:

Venue: The fox theatre, ceremony in the grand salon, reception in the Egyptian ballroom

Caterer: Affairs, haven’t signed yet but loved their quote and menu

Photographer: Drew Newman

Dress: Le Dress, I went to lots of shops in Atl, NY and Dallas and found an amazing deal here in buckhead.

Bridesmaids:Demetrios at peachtree/piedmont. I have nine bridesmaids and was just happy they could agree on something

Flowers: considering tulip because we have heard great things

Band: considering some but haven’t signed

Stationary: DIY

Rehearsal Dinner: Blue Ridge Grille

Still in search of a month of or day of coordinator, every quote I’ve gotten is 2000+, I’m considering corporate eventplanners at this point because I can’t really see the value added other than a body to help carry out a schedule I make

@CarShepherd:  My planner is Soiree South & Co. too!  Your date says you’re already married. Would you recommend Soiree South?

This is the most useful thread I’ve found on the Bee so far!  We have just started planning, but have found our planner, Soiree South & Co.  She is incredible so far and I think the only other person on the planet that understands my vision!  And they charge a percentage of your budget not a flat fee so I can actually afford her with my mid-range budget!  We’re also 90% sure we’re going to book the Dekalb Old Courthouse.  We live in and LOVE Decatur so I’d like my friends and family to be able to experience our home.  I’m so glad there are more Atlanta brides on here!

@fabfox12:  I would definitely look into Soiree South & Co.  Quite a few people on the Bee referred me to them and so far they have exceeded my expectations.  They are also very reasonably priced.  Definitely the best decision I have made so far!
