Hey Bees! So I am trying to figure out who our ushers are supposed to be… Our venue has also asked who our entrance greeter will be (umm.. what? haha) Basically, with our venue, you enter and there is a sidewalk path(its outdoors) that curves over toward this cute old house, and there is a fenced in yard space next to it(the yard is used for cocktail hour, and wedding guest book, gift drop off etc). Behind the yard space s a wisteria arbor, which is where the ceremony is taking place. Its in a small arboretum, so it is outdoors but not confusing like a park, because its a little smaller. More like a big garden?
Anyway.. Who should be the person who stands at the entrance and points to people where to go (since the arbor isn’t visible from the entrance but is just around the bend) and then, since it is a small arbor area where people will be sitting, should we just have two ushers there at the entrance, like between the yard and arbor, directing people where to sit? Im sorry this is so confusing haha I just don’t really know WHO the ushers are supposed to be, or HOW MANY I need… there are about 140 guests. and 5 Bridesmaid or Best Man and 5 Groomsmen. Thanks so much, and sorry for this confusing and kind of stupid question.

@future_mrs_s: The ushers can really be whoever you want them to be!! We had my Brother-In-Law and one of my best guy friends do it.

You could even put up a sign pointing in the direction we should go. Our ushers were our groomsmen.

Our ushers are two family friends. We only need 2 so I asked my dad’s best friend (I refer to him as one of my “uncles”) and FI’s groomsmaid’s husband to be the other usher.

Whoever you want! I had my Brother-In-Law and MOH’s boyfriend do it.

We just had a few of our groomsmen take on the role of usher.

We just had greeters, not ushers, handing out programs and telling people to go inside and sit where they want. They were two of my cousins that we literally didn’t pick out until the weekend of, but they were staying with my parents, super friendly girls and had dresses nice enough that it worked really well.

You can use whoever you want. I’ve seen groomsmen used before to be ushers and flowers girls to hand out programs. I’m using my brothers since they aren’t groomsmen. Or you could just make a sign

Ours are FH’s friends from high school that aren’t as close as the GMs. FH has been one in his cousins’ weddings. So family or close friends not in the Wedding Party are usually the users.
