Good Afternoon Bees!
I am extremely adamant that my fiance is the one to buy my wedding band. I do not want to use our joint account towards this purchase but rather him save and buy it so it is like it is coming specifically from him. Now I am starting to think that maybe I am a bit ridiculous about it and was curious what the “norm” is. So who bought your wedding band? Am I crazy to think that he should save and use his own money towards this purchase? I appreciate your opinions! 🙂

my husband bought mine as a set. So he paid for it. I paid for his. But we didn’t mix money before we got married.

He bought our wedding bands and usually pays for dinner when we go out. However, I pay for all of the household stuff and a lot of the wedding stuff . We’ll be joining finances when we marry, so it will all even out at the end.

We’re going to pick it out together and he’s planning on signing the bill for it, but we have a joint account that both our paychecks get auto-deposited into, so it really doesn’t make a difference for us except from a symbolic standpoint.

I bought his, and he bought mine. But it doesnt really matter because after we got married we made one checking account anyways…

He bought it. It came as a set with my engagement ring (definitely prefer it that way so they match). I want to buy his but we shall see how it works out.

- Wedding: A very pretty church.
I bought our wedding bands (well, the lion’s share). Seemed only fair as he bought my engagement ring.

He bought mine (and his) but I was pretty broke at the time, if I had had money I wouldn’t have really cared about how we went about it. I think it can be an interesting lesson in how you’ll manage finances as a married couple.

SoonToBMrs.C: I bought both of our wedding bands. We were combining finances soon, anyways, and I had the money to pay for them, so I did.

My dh got his father’s wedding band, and we decided, since we had other expenses, we would go without a band for me. I will be getting an anniversary band on our first anniversary, that I am expecting dh to pay for.

We come from the mind that we are getting married so all of my money and all of his money is our money. He will probably pay because he likes to buy me stuff , not that I am complaining We found a beautiful eternity wedding band on the weekend.

It’s all our money anyway. I selected it, but the money just came from our joint account. We had money separate untill recently, but after getting engaged (we’re getting married this july) we figured we might as well start the consolidation process. It’s so much easier to keep track of.

I paid for mine because I came into a bit of money and decided I’d rather have diamonds in my band!
