He bought my “official” one, but I have a stacker (and plan to get more) and I paid for that one, and will pay for future stackers.

He paid for it, but it’s both of our money already, so it didn’t matter either way!

I will be paying for his (£1600) and he will be paying for mine (£800). They are matching bands but we are at opposite ends of the size spectrum!

He offered to pay for both but I want to pay for his, it has a symbolism for me.

If you expect him to pay for yours, you should pay for his, for that to make any sense.

My husband technically paid for both of ours out of his account but it was part of how we split the cost of the wedding so we considered it a joint purchase like paying for the flowers, cake, etc.

I paid for both wedding bands.  However, I included the bands as part of our wedding budget. Since I did the majority of the planning, I just bought and paid for stuff until I hit the halfway mark.  Darling Husband paid for his half after that.  I look at it as we shared the cost of the wedding and therefore shared the cost of the rings.  They were paid for with my credit card though.

SoonToBMrs.C:  We just got our settlement from a car accident we were in almost 2 yrs ago so that money will be used to pay off all of our bills, pay off the wedding, pay for our honeymoon and buy rings. so our accident is actually paying for it, I designed it but the jeweler said he will no longer be in contact with me on the ring only Fiance and the same for his ring he will only be contact me for FI’s ring.

I bought mine. The initial e-ring did come with a matching band; however, we thought it would look better with another band. Once we found out that the jeweler could have another matching band made (we were first told we couldn’t), I went in and purchased when this news was given to me.

SoonToBMrs.C: Exactly. The rings are a wedding expense in my opinion and their costs should be split.

SoonToBMrs.C:  I bought both mine and my husbands. No particular reason why, thats just the way it worked out. They cost < $500 for both of them though.

My wedding band belonged to my Grandmother and my parents paid for it to be cleaned and resized. In my DH’s culture, it’s customary for the groom to have his wedding suit made and DH’s Mum wanted to pay for that. As we got married in the UK and hired suits, she paid for his ring instead. To us, the exchanging of the rings during the ceremony was much more significant/symbolic than whose money paid for them, and it made my Mother-In-Law happy.
