We went shopping together. I picked three I really loved and he made the final choice alone. He also picked out my center sapphire himself

@whiteswan:  My now husband and I had looked at rings and talked about what we both liked, and he ended up getting me just what I wanted. But, we didn’t design or pick out the ring together as the proposal was a complete surprise and he picked/bought my ring without me knowing he was doing it.

@whiteswan:  I looked online for ages before showing him anything. Once I was set on one I showed it to him to see what he thought. I knew he wouldn’t get me something he didn’t like. Thankfully he was a fan too.

I said we both picked it out, but really I chose the stone and he came with to approve of everything.  Ha.

We both decided where to get the ring from and I told him what I wanted, we designed it, and he bought it.

The only thing I told him was that I wanted a round, brilliant cut solitaire. I left the rest up to him, so he chose setting, size, store, etc.

We went ring browsing together and I showed him different rings and details I liked. He ended up picking out the final ring himself. I think it’s the best of both worlds. I got the element of surprise at the final result, but he had some freedom to pick the ring with some guidance from me.

my SO picked it out on his own.  i didn’t know he had already bought a ring so i didn’t have any input.  he did a great job though!

Similar to everyone else, we went to several jewelers together to get an idea of what I wanted. Then he went to a jeweler that was recommended by a friend that we had not visited togetherand he designed it with them based on what I liked. He did a great job and it’s perfect!

We went to a store together and decided on a style that’s completely different to what I thought I wanted.

He chose the diamond for the setting we chose together. After learning all about the C’s with the jeweler he selected a half carat, ideal cut, G. I really appreciated that he went quality over size.

My husband and I visited some jewelry stores together to get fingers sized and point out what kind of rings we liked best, but when we went shopping for each other’s rings (we both wore engagment rings because he wanted to be proposed to, too, lol) it was independently. I chose his based on what he’d shown me he liked and vice versa. We did well, we both loved our rings and there was still a surprise factor because neither of us knew when the other hand gone ring shopping or exactly when the proposal was coming 🙂

I worked with a designer on my rings, my partner just supplied the credit card at the end. But then again, he’s the type who needs to be told exactly what to buy for gifts, etc.

I was very clear that I wanted to choose my own ring. My husband proposed without a ring and I went and got a super cheap one from Claire’s to wear. We went to the Jewellery Quarter together a few weeks later for me to get my ring. I was given a budget and away I went. I love my ring
