However honestly if I had the final say I would have had my girls choose their own dresses that were more affordable. I gave them this option and none of them liked the idea!

Mine were from Dessy (After Six line).  The ones I chose were tea length, red (flame), a-line, sweetheart neckline but Dessy has every style and color you could possibly want!  I don’t have any pictures I can show you though since I’m at work.

I thought they were pretty affordable too.  We got them for $135 each (although the floor length styles will probably run you a little more if that’s the look you’re going for).  And they were really nice dresses – I actually got one for myself in a pattern (instead of solid) to wear for the rehearsal!

@nmsoonerbride: Nice find!  Both weddings I’ve been a Bridesmaid or Best Man in, we’ve worn JCrew dresses.  One was on clearance (but they were still $140 – a great deal compared to the original price and not bad for a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress IMO, but certainly not the deal you got).  The other was one of their cotton sundresses and was about $120 I think.

@Mrs.KMM:Wow, we did get a deal.  We bought them right after the color (clover) was discontinued, so maybe that helped.  I also ended up choosing my wedding colors based on the dress that we got on sale, so that obviously is backward from what most brides do.

@Violet Violet:I’ve been in several “wear whatever” weddings and found them MUCH too stressful.  I much prefer being told what to wear.

My bridesmaids wore Bill Levkoff in Euro Grey. It may be the same style as PitBullLover (Bill Levkoff 370).

I wore a long dress of my choosing from Alfred Angelo for a friend’s wedding. The color was Claret (red).

We are wearing Amsale dresses for my sister’s April wedding in Blush (pink).

I just went through this and I found the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses on Nordstrom.  I wasn’t sure if the girls would like it, but I sent them a picture and they all said that they liked it.  I still wasn’t sure because the price was $158, but I looked the other day and they went on sale for $98.90, so that’s pretty much made the decision.  Donna Morgan is the designer:

David’s Bridal!….. Going for the modern, simple/fun look.  They’ll be in BLACK though.
