My husband’s sister-in-law- she’s lovely and such a help. We had a blast since my mom, sister, own SIL, and none of my bridesmaids could be there.

I went with my mom and my best friend/MOH. I really wanted both their opinions an didn’t so much care what anyone else had to say. I knew they would both be honest and no nonsense. It was a simple day and we only had to go one time. Perfect for me! =)

Congrats on your engagement!

The first time – I took my mom (who was not as helpful as I thought, since she started trying on her own dresses) and I invited 2 friends – one whose taste I knew was spot on and another that would give me decent opinion.

I’d say, don’t take too many people, but more than one is helpful.  You also want someone who shares your taste but won’t be nice about it.

At least for me, after a while, the dresses start to blend and it can get confusing… so, it’s helpful to have either a good consultant helping you or a friend you can rely on.

I went by myself a couple times, and I wouldn’t recommend doing that (only because I think another set of eyes is really helpful!!)

I wouldn’t want to go with 8 people!! I went just with my mom (MOH lives far away) and I was happy with that! She knows me the best and could speak up or word things even when I couldn’t and was very honest. We had a great time 🙂

I went to look with my mom and sister and ended up finding the perfect dress for me. I had wanted to include Future Mother-In-Law since Fiance is her only son and I wanted her to be a part of it, so I called her and she drove to see my dress before we bought it.

I took my mom and my older sister.  I am not one for an audience either!  Once I narrowed it down to 2 dresses I brought my Dad.  He is always brutally honest and his opinion meant a lot to me!

It was just me and my mom when I bought my dress. We went to 3 stores, and found it at the last one. My mom lives out of town, I’m an only child, and I don’t get to see her all that often, so I really wanted this day to be for the two of us.

I plan to take my fmil to my first fitting (so that she doesn’t feel completely excluded!)

My mom and I went alone first. We found a few dresses that we thought looked good on me and then invited my 2 grandmas, my cousin (MOH) and my Future Mother-In-Law to come. I tried on the contenders and a little more and picked out my dress with all of them there.
