This has been discussed to death over the past few months.  There are many online reviews of the various companys.  The issue with just about all of them to me is that they are press printed and use cardstock for the pages and not photopaper.  The only one that uses photopaper is AdoramaPix and that is the one I would recommend.  Another would be mypublisher and use the high gloss option so the cardstock looks more like a photo.

For what they cost these books are not bad, but you may want to buy 2 copies.  They tend to show wear after little use.  Also the bindings are glued so the integrity of the book depends on that glue.

How much would your photographer charge to supply these albums?

Another (more costly) option would be

I have not had a good experience with Blurb

The closest you will get to pro quality is somerset, will cost 300+

I used Picaboo’s $150 one and was very pleased. Wait for Groupons and you’ll get them for a reasonable price.

I just put my order in for my Adoramapix book. Haven’t received it yet, but it got the best reviews and with 20% off I got the book for $68. Unless it’s going to sit on your coffee table and be handled by someone everyday I think the quality of this type of book is more than adequate–for me at least. They had the best reviews from everything I read. Pro photo books were right up their with chair covers, limos, and designer shoes in my wedding budget–nice, I guess, but not worth it for price and unnecessary when it comes down to it.

I really love our albums (we got 2, one for the ceremony and one for the reception) through adoramapix. So, so gorgeous and the pages lay flat. It seems like it’s pretty high quality.

I used Shutterfly. I love them. They have great customer service as well. I bought three books for $150 with about 50 pages in them. One picture that I grabbed off facebook printed too fuzzy for my liking, so I called up Shutterfly to see if there was something I could do. They gave me three new books with extra pages for free!

So now I’m rearranging my book a little bit and then putting my new order in.

They have a 100% satisfaction gt, which is true!

I’ve also used them before on random photobooks as presents when I received their free photobook coupon codes.

I used Picaboo for our engagement photo book and my boudoir book and absolutely love the quality.  The colors are very true and the paper quality and cover is excellent.  I used MyPublisher and was not happy at all.  Would not recommend them.

I used Photobook America for our wedding—they’re quite nice. My husband made a fun Blurb one for our anniversary—it’s not as nice, but it was cheap and easy to do.

You can find awesome reviews from http://www.photobookgirl.com. She also has daily updates of Groupons that you can take advantage of.  For something quick to have just to show people wedding pics, I recommend hotprints.com. They have FREE photo books (they are more like your own magazine of photos). But they charge you $2.99 shipping. You can get four a month and I’ve ordered 8 since our wedding just to give to close friends and family that want something to hold onto. I’m still ordering an album probably from Adoramapix.

I plan on using Adorama Pix. I have a few friends that used them and their albums turned out really nice!
