I need to find a good, cheap seamstress in Austin. My dress is too long and (sadly) too tight.
Who did you use?
Also, my hairstylist moved. I’ve got to find someone new for a cut/color and hopefully for wedding day hair. If you love your stylist, I could really use some reccomendations.
Thanks so much for your help!

If anyone knows of one in Sacramento… I’m hoping for a referral too. <3

I always bring my nice clothes to Ace Custom Tailors in Austin. They aren’t cheap, but they do a good job. From what I’ve heard, letting a dress out can be very time consuming/expensive, so I think it may be difficult to find someone to do it for cheap.
As far as hair is concerned, I go to Pink on South Congress. I go to Lauren and she does a great job. Again, not cheap, but great. I think she charges $60 for a haircut and regular (not bridal) style. I’ve also heard great things about Jessica at Shag, on South First.

Alexa Gavela Bridal has some amazing seamstresses — that’s where I had my dress altered and it needed A LOT of work. I don’t think it was super expensive for what I had done but not cheap either.
For hair I am a huge fan of Avant – there’s one on 2nd and one in Southpark meadows (and I think one up north). They do amazing things with my hair!

I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone else could use a good seamstress. Austin Alterations and Cleaners on Lamar is AWESOME! Great service, great prices, fast turnaround. I am totally going back there!
