(Closed) Who does most of the cooking in your house?

Are you kidding? If the cooking were left up to him we'd starve!

My amazing guy does most of the cooking and likes it that way

We split it more or less equally

Who has time to cook? We eat out/order in/microwave all of our food!

@crayfish:  If not for me, Fiance would survive solely on yogurt, granola bars, coffee and beer.  🙂  That’s all that was in his kitchen before me.

LOL my kitchen has a floorspace of about 4 ft by like 10 ft. And barely any counter space. It sucks. I wouldn’t mind a *bit* more space before taking on the adventure of two grown people in that space trying to cook.

Pre-me, he ate lots of fast food (re: burritos) and when he “cooked” the menu consisted of:

    Celeste’s Pizza

    Quesadillas or

    Salsa rice

It’s possible there is more, but doubtful. I just asked him for list and that’s where he stopped.

We don’t live together  . . . so it may be different after marriage . . . but at this point both my SO and I cook for each other.  I probably cook just a tad more frequently than he does, but over all, we both make dinner for each other (and packed lunches if we’re going some place for the day) fairly frequently.  I’m more into details (using spices, making specific dishes, etc.) whereas he just grills meat, makes pasta, or boils frozen veggies.  But, I see how much effort he puts into it when he does make me dinner, including lighting candles and using a table cloth (and once he even made me brownies — he’d never baked a desert in his life before!) so I really am grateful that he puts the effort in and I don’t feel like I’m always doing the cooking or that the dinners I make for him are taken for granted in any way.  I really am blessed to have him!

I cook 95% of the time. I wouldn’t mind this so much if I didn’t also have to choose what we ate every single night and had to do all of the grocery shopping on top of it. When I feel inspired I LOVE to cook, but when I dont get home until 9:30 pm and have to be up at 8 I really don’t feel like cooking dinner. Every once in a while Mister suprises me and makes dinner. He does a few things really well like breakfast or….well…that might be it. Then other times he just mixes together ground turkey, black beans, and rice. The boy would eat rice three times a day every day if I would allow it. I guess that’s what I get for living with a boy who’s granma grew up in Spain!

Fiance is in charge of all the grilling and the slicing of the pizza…lmao

Seriously, I do most of the cooking, usually he gets off work late, and obviously since I work third shift I’m already home to get it started. But he really is a grillin’ machine, and he helps out however he can when he gets to the house.

We split the cooking pretty much 50/50.  When Fiance cooks during the week it is very bland – meat and 3 veges, but at least its healthy!

He used to cook really yummy meals when we were first dating so I know he can do it!  He doesn’t bake much but I love baking.

I cook 90% of them. Hubs usually makes breakfast on the weekends, and when I am coming home late he will cook, but I try to always have frozen veggies and easier stuff around so he doesn’t have to make anything hard, or have something in the crockpot.

I cook. He’s good at ordering out. If I’m not feeling well he might make something simple, like pasta. But I usually have to give him step by step instructions.

If I left it up to him, we’d be eating ramen and hot dogs 24/7.  He does make a mean hot dog, but still, I don’t want to eat hot dogs every day.
