Hi, Bees!
My fiance and I are in love with the idea of a vineyard wedding in central VA. I’m only in the earliest stages of venue searching, but I’ve gotten huge sticker shock from what is unfortunately the ideal location. As in, $6500 for the venue, a tent, and tables and chairs.
Who else out there has done a vineyard wedding? What did your package include? Was it worth it??
Thanks, everyone!

I am from Northern VA, and really wanted to do the vineyard wedding thing at some of the wineries around here. It really is more expensive to get married at a vineyard, because you have to bring in everything. And the “all-inclusive” vineyards – few and far between – are even more expensive. For example, Bluemont Vineyard in western Loudoun is said to be the most cost-effective around here. They have in-house catering, and both ceremony & reception sites. I went there and fell in love, but they quoted the “barn” rental at $6k for a Saturday night (not including the food). Other non-vineyard options I was looking at (a historic mansion and a golf club) are about $1,500 for the rental; much, much cheaper than the barn at Bluemont!
It did make me said, because Fiance and I are big wine-os and our whole family has said that type of venue would be perfect for us. But I just don’t think it’s doable for our budget (around 10k). I will be following this thread, and if you find a cheaper vineyard option in VA I’d love to hear about it! PM if you’d like 🙂
