    Funny, I’ve never used FB to post any personal stuff, I use it strictly as a business tool & it’s been great for that purpose.

    I hate hate HATE facebook and all social media. I am the only person in the world with my name, so I hate that people can track me down so easily. I have every privacy setting imaginable up, so all that strangers can see are my profile picture (which is my shadow) and my name.

    The only reason I don’t disappear off the grid completely are my friends. I moved 600 miles away from them and I am determined to keep in touch. If they want to keep in touch by email, fine. Smoke signals? Fine. Facebook? Fine. I love them dearly and I will do what it takes to not lose them to distance, even if it means having personal information so easy to trace.

    I do hope they jump ship and go to smoke signals or (god forbid) talking on the phone. I can’t wait to get off of that stupid site.

    Facebook can be a wonderful thing, if you don’t mind finding out how stupid your closest friends and family can be.  That’s why we’ve got all of the equally-inane “Facebook fails” sites and STFU, Parents.

    Yeah, it’s easy to see why I wanted to flee my hometown so badly.

    Last week I “quit” Facebook. I currently only have 7 friends left – immediate family – and only for the purpose of keeping in contact until my wedding tomorrow.

    After tomorrow, they too will be deleted, and I will be 100% free of Facebook.

    I am SO much happier – even though it’s only been a week. I never realized how involved in other peoples drama and stress I was. And always comparing myself to other people.

    🙂

    Tried it and hated it.  Too many people all up in your business.  Best thing I ever did was delete my account over a year ago. Still don’t miss it. People get too carried away with all the drama.

    @GeorgiaBride5:

    I did not want to become one of the addicts and let it run my life.  Fiance is not on either, so we are quite content not knowing what every single person is doing every minute of every day.  I even think Facebook is like an online sorority/fraternity; it’s for those who want/need to feel like they belong to something and have tons of people who have something in common with them.  I am so thankful to have a normal fulfulled life.”  -I couldn’t agree more.

    I hate facebook, so does Darling Husband.

    I unfriended all the people with BS and now I love it. It’s the easiest way to keep up with friends all over the country whom I don’t get to see often, to share pictures, and yes, even stalk people you no longer talk to to make sure your life is better than yours (It is. It always is.) I cut it down from a couple thousand (in college when I friended everybody I met lol) to about 500 which sounds like a lot, but I’m due for another cleanse sometime soon and should cut that in half. I only keep people I really care about on my newsfeed and the second somebody says something I can’t stand, I hide them from my newsfeed. If they’re repeat offenders, I just unfriend them.

    I love facebook. I know everyone says they hate it now, but everyones also still on it lol. I block people from my news feed if I don’t like what they post. I think it’s an amazing way to maintain friendships when I’m too busy to hang out.
