For y’all who want better candidates: get involved locally. Small grass-roots efforts can force the major parties to put up better candidates.  Oh and you can always run for office yourself.

I was happy to feed my ballot into the machine this morning!

Already voted early, so did my husband!  I’m sure we’ll be up all night waiting for as many results as possible to come in.

I was in line shortly after my location opened this morning!  There was already a crowd.  Like PP, I’m anxious, but hopeful.

I voted a couple weeks ago so I could focus on GOTV efforts in the home stretch.  And yes, I was thrilled to vote.  I was lucky to have some amazing candidates and ballot proposals in my state. I feel for the earlier posters that did not feel they had great candidates, voting certainly isn’t as enjoyable if that’s the case.

I am very energized by the surge in turnout. Some of the numbers are just crazy.  When more of us participate we are able to build a better government.  I personally helped 6 first time midterm voters to the polls and I feel better tonight than I did in 2016.

There are a lot of great candidates across the nation and a great many of them are women.  This alone is meaningful.

I don’t get to vote yet, but will gain that right in 3 months when I officially become a citizen. Excited about that.

But for now, I’m anxiously checking the results every few minutes!

glitterati :  Thanks! Your parents sound like upstanding, responsible citizens. Hope we all follow their example. 🙂
