@realtreegal:  Not wearing one either. But I agree that under-the-veil pics are adorable. Have you considered getting a really cheap veil from like Michael’s or something and just using it as a prop for pics? Then you get the veil pics without actually having to wear a veil.

I’m only wearing it for the ceremony – taking it off for reception.

I don’t think I will be wearing one, as it doesn’t really match my dress. If I do decide to wear one, it will be a birdcage veil 🙂

Not wearing a veil for any part of the wedding. Since I have short hair, every type of veil just felt too “First Holy Communion” – not exactly the look I’m going for!

I have am wearing this headband instead:

My florist is adding some tiny fresh flowers and succulents to it. FYI this was after my hair trial, my hair doesn’t normally look this smooth and neat!

I’m wearing a hairpiece that my mother wore.. something old/borrowed.

I really like the idea of a cheap veil for pictures! Good thinking!

@realtreegal:  I’m not wearing a veil.  I don’t consider myself to be a very “traditional” person, so my opting not to wear one will probably not be much of a surprise to anyone.  I am wearing an ivory wedding gown (obviously a traditional choice), but I’m going for a more whimsical, romantic look and I think the headpiece I’ve chosen will be a better fit for the look I’m trying to achieve.

Here’s a stock photo of the hair wrap I’ll be wearing:

I initially was dead set on no veil, I wanted a fascinator and thought veils were pointless.  I tried on a fingertip veil for my mom because she wanted to see me in it, and I loved it!  When I picked my dress my consultant asked if I wanted to try on a cathedral length veil “just for fun”, well I loved that one even more!  I went from wanting no veil to getting a giant veil.

I didn’t wear one. We got married on a beach, so I didn’t want to worry about wind. I’m very happy with my choice.

I don’t have my dress yet, and I don’t really have any idea of what my look will be, but the one thing I do know is that I won’t be wearing a veil. I think they look great on other brides, but it’s just not me. No way. I do want some kind of hair deccoration, but nothing more.

I’m wearing a fresh flower though I haven’t decided how I’m doing my hair just yet

I’m not wearing a veil!  I’m going to have flowers in my hair.  I’m also having a beachside destination wedding 🙂
