We’re skipping it. Neither of us are huge fans of cake so we’re doing ice cream….2 flavors of ice cream sandwiches and 2 flavors of cones too. We’re having a local ice cream shop come serve it 🙂

Our donut cake was a huge hit.  We have cake donuts,  lemon filled, eclairs, chocolate,  and glazed. The keto cake do made for us was also delicious. Oh,  on the Costco sheetcake got eaten up too.  It was very casual and very us.

We got married at a restaurant, so dessert for the guests was included in the coursed meal. It was a choice of cheesecake or maple tart. We DID have a small cake, because at the last minute my mom thought we needed one lol… but we didn’t really want to spend the money on one. Instead we had an awesome pavlova made by my husband’s family member, since he’s from New Zealand. It was way more delicious and interesting than the cake!

I will admit, though. I didn’t want to buy a cake, but I did enjoy being able to save a slice in the freezer to have on our first anniversary. The pav wouldn’t have kept quite the same way lol

alfalfasprout10518 :  YUM I love cider donuts! We decided on cupcakes as they’re more affordable, portable, and we could choose multiple flavors instead of committing to just one. I think whatever you decide is awesome! As long as there is a sweet treat available I don’t think anyone will really miss the cake. So much of it gets wasted anyway.

If I could have everything I wanted in my wedding, I would go for shaved ice, but my fiancé loves cake so we are stickkng with cake. Buttttt, yesterday I saw online a pizza bouquet and it made me think we should have done “cut the pizza” instead of cut the cake. If we didn’t already have a cake ordered we would have totally gone for pizza!!

My friends had a full, 8 teir cheesecake! It was amazing!

SO and I have talked and we will likely  not do a cake (neither of us care for it) but either cheesecake (which we both love) or a big dessert bar with our favorite things on it: cheesecakes, gooey butter cake, cookies, strawberry shortcake, donuts, and this one bakery from back home that makes these amazing angel food cupcakes! I personally don’t miss cake at a wedding, and I like it when the couples put out their favorite desserts because it feels more intimate!
