Eh. It's helpful, but we won't be getting engaged for a while.

We're NOWHERE NEAR engagement. We'll spend it on other things.

Not a tax return, but a bonus. Apparently everyone at work knows about his upcoming “big purchase” which is kind of surprising to me. I guess I just felt like he would get this large sum of money, and be like “I’m going to save it, it looks nice in my account” which goodness knows, I’ve done twice in the past year when I could have paid off my student loan :/ But he’s set to buy the ring later this month so YAY!

IDK about his W2 (I helped pick the ring and want the rest to be on him) but UGH WHERE IS MINE I just started with this company in August and they’ve been so behind with EVERYTHING! It’s bad enough that I thought I was going in for an interview when I was actually getting hired and couldn’t get in contact with my Future Mother-In-Law to help with my tax forms, but they also didn’t have an option to NOT join the Union (which in MD you can never be required to join….) so I pay $11 every week! I need all the tax money I can get since I’m never seeing those $11 ever again.

Considering my bf will probably OWE money for not signing up for Healthcare because it’s too expensive for him to afford thru his work and now will have to pay a fine(thanks Obama care) , there ain’t no tax return to put toward a ring.

So awesome, one more thing to set us back. I feel like if he really wanted to do it though he’d find a way.

Topshelfprincess : I really do think that healthy pressure and encouraging from close family and friends can make a difference to a guy. If only my bfs fam and friends were as Gung ho about marriage as my family and friends are!! I feel like it’d help get the ball rolling but even his dad suggested once that it’d be cheaper for us to buy a condo together instead of rent and almost instinctively I piped up : “uh no I don’t think so! I’m not putting my name on a mortgage with him until we’re married.”

Haha. Maybe if his own father would encourage his son to put a ring on it it’d help …doesn’t help that his mom is outta the picture. (Good thing she is …she was not a good mother to my bf) but if he had a healthy good mom, I feel like the mom of the future groom can talk sense into her son, too.

So yeah w2s are of no help here…. I wish.
