That’s totally me! I was dreaming about ball gowns, tulle, the works.  I swear, your story is exactly mine! And we ended up with very similar dresses! 🙂

I wanted a subdued black dress. I ended up with an ivory tealength dress with lace and sparkles all over it.

I wanted simple, minimal bling, halter neck line, A line skirt, plain, clean lines.  No way was I trying on ball gowns or other frou frou gowns.

This is what I got.

I’m the opposite…I thought I wanted a sheath or really slim fitted dress and I ended up with an A-line/ballgown style.

Im actually removing lots of tulle to make it a more slim A-line, but here’s the original runway pic:

@reine_de_rien: I love that you said that! The theme of my wedding is old world glamour and I realized I wanted a very classic look.

Your dress is a stunner. 🙂

I was dead-set against a strapless dress. I was convinced it would be a hassle and didn’t want to be pulling my dress up all night. I wanted a v-neck dress with lace accents. But I didn’t want to be one of those brides that refused to try something on, so when the consultant pulled my dress, I hesitantly agreed to try it on. It’s perfect!

before I tried on wedding dresses, I was convinced I wanted either entirely lace, or entirely ruffles. In my mind, there was no question.

Lo and behold, this is what I ended up with:

Completely different and much more plain!!

I started out wanting chiffon, flowy, beachy. I ended up with this:

Much poofier than I ever expected.
