They aren’t mandatory but they certainly are a nice gesture.

I’m getting gifts for my bms, parents [both mine & fi], and anyone else who I felt helped out on/before my day.

They aren’t mandatory, but a nice gesture if you can afford it. We gave them to our parents, the bridesmaids, the flower girl (we didn’t have a ringbearer) and the groomsmen.

They aren’t mandatory persay but they are highly recommended and appreciated! We will be giving gifts to both sets of parents, the bridesmaids and the best men. We may/may not also give a gift to FI’s sister as she is not in the wedding party but we may ask her to do a reading.

ETA: If you are also having flower girls and a ringbearer I would give them gifts too.

@brokeninnj:  Is there anyone in the bridal party?  I could not tell exactly from “no bridesmaids or large bridal party.”  I’d say whoever is left.  Maid/Matron of Honor, Bridesmaid or Best Man, etc.

We got gifts for everyone in the bridal party including ring bearers, ushers, and readers (although the readers and ushers got smaller things that Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen like bottles of wine and wine charms). We also got personalized photoframes for our parents, personalized handerchiefs for the grandparents, and I also gave the parents of our ringbearers a personalized frame and later sent them a picture of their sons from the wedding to put in it. When Brother-In-Law and SIL got married they only got gifts for the bridal party.  Each of them also got a nice handwritten note.
