I say save the fancy cards for family, who will actually save them, and send generic cards to the rest.

Last year was our first newlywed Christmas and we got cards from everyone!! All Dh’s aunts, friends, etc. I was used to exchanging cards with my extended family and friends, but Dh’s had never given us cards before and I was definitely caught short.

I love to do photo cards because I know those are my favorite to receive!

We only invited those who were important in our lives to our wedding, so in our case we are planning on sending fancy Christmas cards to everyone on our guest list.

My experience is that most people keep and display Christmas cards, especially photo cards, until the holiday is over.  So I wouldn’t worry about them ending up in the trash!

We are planning to send photo cards to everyone on our guest list, plus a few others.  I’m hoping that if I get them out early enough, people will have time to send a card back.  I love to receive cards.

I’d just send the Christmas cards to the people you’re closest to. Knowing how talented you are, I’m assuming all of your wedding guests got photo thank-you cards after the wedding?

Our first Christmas we just did standard Christmas cards.  I felt like the wedding was over and had nothing to do with Christmas.

@AB Bride:  I agree.  I think the card looks great for a Thank You card, but almost 10 months later, the wedding is probably long out of most peoples mind and everyone has probably seen these pictures already.  I’d maybe only do it for family at this point.

We’re doing just close family and friends…not all the extras we invited from the wedding (ex: parent’s friends & coworkers, 2nd and 3rd cousins/extended family we really don’t know) But we had a relatively large wedding 332, so there’s no way we’re paying to send nice Christmas cards to all those people. Your cards look great!!!

@DeathByDesign:  I have no problem with people who do it, it was just why we decided to send the boxed cards.

@DeathByDesign:  Oooh so you guys are sending to all? I know it’s more expense than you wanted, but I’m sure the recipients will appreciate them, at least. 🙂
