I got engaged on Thanksgiving day πŸ™‚

Proposal story: My fiance and I are long distance so I only see him once a month. In October, when I went to visit, he gave me a memory jar, full of memories of us. He made enough memories so I would have one to open each day until mid-December.  I absolutely loved the memory jar. We always have said to each other “remember that one time….” so the memory jar was a perfect way for me to laugh and think about the good times we have had.  I looked forward to opening a new memory each day.

Well when my Thanksgiving break rolled around, I was lucky enough to have 10 days off to spend with him. When I got to his place, he told me he made me 10 more memories to open each day I was there. On Thanksgiving day, we ran a 10K turkey trot and then went home for brunch.  After brunch, he said “why don’t you open a memory, so we can be thankful for it all day.”  So I proceeded to open a memory. The memory said remember that one time we got engaged? And then he got down on one knee! It was the best moment of my life πŸ™‚

He had changed out the remaining memories with ones that all said remember that one time we got engaged. It was so perfect and creative! And thanksgiving is now my new favorite holiday πŸ™‚

And the ring is so perfect!  Tacori. Round 1.2 center stone, with blooming halo.

My amazing FIANCE (ahh it’s so great to call him that) asked me to spend the rest of my life with him on our anniversary, 16th November. If I could choose how, where and when it happened, I don’t think I could’ve imagined anything as perfect as his proposal was.

Our day started early when we boarded the Camira sailing yacht for our full day Whitsunday Islands cruise. My Fiance and I were sharing a backpack and I’d put my bikini and towel in there, but didn’t see a box so thought it wasn’t gonna happen.

HE PROPOSED!!! And it was perfect! **Pics** : wedding E1 For the first few hours we were sailing, eating, drinking and just enjoying the fresh ocean air. He was acting completely normal and I didn’t suspect a thing. The weather was beautiful – the sun was shining and a gentle breeze was blowing.
HE PROPOSED!!! And it was perfect! **Pics** : wedding E2

The highlight of the day cruise was stopping at Whitehaven Beach, named one of the world’s top 10 beaches because of it’s pure white silica sand and turquoise water. We were given an hour to explore the beach before lunch so while everyone else went swimming, James took me by the hand and said we should walk to the end where it was shaded and quiet. I couldn’t have dreamed up a more beautiful location for the most important and magical moment of my life to take place. This is me wading through the water as a waiting bee for the last time.

HE PROPOSED!!! And it was perfect! **Pics** : wedding E4

James spotted a shady area on the rocks and laid out our beach towels. We sat there for about 15 minutes watching the boats go by and taking in the unbelievably beautiful view. And then… before I could realise what was happening… he was on his knee. And then the waterworks started! I swear I was blubbering like a baby before the poor boy even opened his mouth. But I remember every word. He told me he loved me, that I meant everything to him and that he couldn’t imagine one minute of one day without me in his life. And then, those 4 wonderful words. I didn’t just say it, I screamed it… YES!!!

HE PROPOSED!!! And it was perfect! **Pics** : wedding E5

And when I thought it couldn’t get any better, he slipped the most exquisite ring I’ve ever seen on my finger. (And yes bees, in that moment I was sooo happy I resisted the urge to open the jewellery box when I came across it a few days earlier). Despite having had a hand in designing the ring, nothing compared to seeing it on my finger in all it’s glittering goodness. So for the specs… 1ct cushion cut centre stone (E, VVS2) surrounded by micropave diamonds in the halo and around the band. It’s blindingly beautiful (and BIG on my size 4 finger) and I absolutely love it!

I’m the happiest girl alive and couldn’t be more in love with my FI! We’re currently planning our wedding for Valentine’s Day, 14th February 2013.

Me!! November 29th. πŸ™‚ I actually just posted my proposal story. It was very sweet, romantic, private, and Christmassy! It was perfect. πŸ™‚

Here’s the ring:

It’s sooooo sparkly! I can’t stop staring at it. It looked insanely awesome in the worship center lighting during church today! I was getting a little distracted… but I think Jesus understands. πŸ™‚

I got engaged the day after Thanksgiving. My fiance proposed while we were taking a walk by the river in front of these caves in his hometown. Congrats to everyone else on their engagements!

ME!!!! I got engaged on my birthday the 27th!!!

We went to dinner at my favourite restuarant but before dinner I wanted to have a look at the beach because it was dusk and beautiful. So I run over to the railing and look at the water while he catches up, he cuddles me from behind and I say “this is perfect” at that moment he pulls out my ring and say’s I knew the day I met met you I was going to marry you, will you marry me?”

It was so sweet and perfect for us!!!
