Just curious to see how many others went–or are going–the park route. Post pics!
My husband and I got married at our favorite local park in the Dallas area. Reasons: it looks nice with a large pavilion, it has special meaning to us, reservations cost nearly nothing, parking is ample, and the weather is usually awesome in October (it was!).
First some pics we took when we were scoping the place out, then wedding pics.

^couldn’t help myself lol
Okay, wedding day!

Beautiful site!
We chose a Chicago Park District site because:
- It is in the heart of the downtown area
- Showcases our city
- Views of the lake, the museum campus and the skyline
- Its outside
- The name is Cancer Survivor’s Garden which has a lot of meaning in our family
- Its gorgeous!!
We got married in front of the archway

I really wanted to have my wedding in New Orleans’ city park, I have many wonderful memories there, but all of the rentals needed were out of our budget. So we’re just going to take photos there since the venue isn’t far from the park. Your pictures are lovely, and so are you!
Here are some photos of where my wedding (would have) taken place. I love sprawling oak trees with tons of Spanish moss!

Cool stone bridge going over part of the small lake.

The Peristyle, overlooking the lake, very popular place for ceremonies.

Popp’s Bandstand, used in filming of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I would have really loved to get married here, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Very happy I’ll be able to get some gorgeous photos there though.
