My Darling Husband picked out the ring completely on his own and did a great job!

We had talked about my likes/dislikes casually over time – looking back, he knew I preferred white gold over yellow gold (he went with platinum because I’m rough on my rings), that I liked Moissanites better than diamonds, and that I didn’t like high settings,

Beyond those basic details, it was all him. I had no input on the actual stone, setting, or size (or the proposal!) – and he did an incredible job!

MY SO and I picked out my e-ring and his band yesterday. Yipee… I am so excited, originally I wanted a halo ring and he did not like that style. He wanted me to have a solitaire, I was not a big fan until I started researching them. But guess what I got what I wanted in the end, now I am going to be counting the days until he proposes to me this summer.

My baby did it all on his own with help from my pinterest! Lol. I have tons of “dream rings” on there but he more then delievered! He picked the perfect ring.

@mscuppycake:  I hinted about some family rings my mom has… But I’ve never seen them! Now I have my great-grandmother’s ring! She got married in 1910! Amazing!

Well I didn’t even know my Fiance even went looking for a ring. He just based his decision on a ring on my personal style and what he knew would look good on my small hands haha he took me by complete surprise and he did a wonderful job! He however DID say if I didn’t like it he’d be willing to change it to something I wanted but I DID love it. He knew me well enough to pick out the perfect ring.

I had mentioned that I prefered yellow gold, at least a year before he proposed, when we were having a general conversation. I had no idea he was planning a proposal when it happened. I wanted it to be a surprise so I am happy with how it all played out.

He knew that I liked to work on cars with him so he got a lower profile setting to avoid it getting caught on things while working or just everyday life in general. I love the ring he got me though I had to get used to wearing it since I’m not used to wearing rings, it sticks up clost to 1/8″. I would get it caught on clothes or in my hair but it doesn’t happen much anymore.

My SO suggested we look at rings together, and it was fun! i think he got sucked into the sparkle as much as I did!  A low profile ring is a must for me, so I’m glad he wanted me involved! It came down to 2 settings, I think I know which one he will choose, but I he is picking out the center stone. I gave him my priorities, but we will see! I’m sure I will not be dissappointed 🙂

We received two heirloom rings from my side of the family, from my paternal grandmother and great aunt, so I definitely wanted a say in the rings. After some thought and talking to family, we decided to create custom rings from elements of the heirlooms. My engagement ring, wedding band and his wedding band are being created from the rings. We did keep my grandmother’s ER intact. You can see the original rings here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/two-heirloom-ringsboth-important-should-i-combine-need-help#axzz2X9D84mgF

We discussed a basic design, I gave my vision, and he and the jeweler took over from there. I trust them both to create something wonderful. SO has told me they are currently being manufactured, so now it’s the waiting game! I absolutely cannot wait to see them, and to hear his proposal. He’s a generally quiet but romantic man. 🙂

I’ve mentioned before a couple of things which I wouldn’t like but honestly, I want him to choose but I want it to be something personal. I never get women who choose their ring, I’m not yet at the point when I just want the proposal, I’m still hoping for the romance and him choosing the ring is a part of that for me. plus, I 100% trust him to know my taste and pick something nice.

None of the poll options really fit for me. I would have let him pick it entirely on his own. I had no idea that he was going to propose until he actually did it, and it turned out that he wanted me to have a say. So he proposed with a stand-in, and we chose a ring after the proposal.

Way back when, probably 1.5 years ago, my SO had asked in casual conversation what my ideal proposal was, and what I liked.  Of course, when I mentioned the stone I was most drawn to at the time, he had no clue what it was, etc.

Fast forward to present, approximately one week ago, and he got down on one knee – in what was a complete and utter surprise for me!!  I had no clue, none whatsoever, and so I can offically say I had NO hand in picking a ring, etc.

He knew I did not, as months ago I told him that this was also about him, and what he wanted to buy, but I always ‘thought’ he would still need me to give him some ideas.

I am happy to report that it is the MOST beautiful piece of jewelry I have ever seen, and the stone I mentioned so long ago is exactly what he picked.  He remembered!!

My FI’s proposal was a total surprise so I had no say in it.  He did a fantastic job, but he always gets me great gifts.  I was never really worried he’d pick something I wouldn’t like.
