SoonMrsCrocker2 :  mine was about $5000, but my insurance covered some. I also think it depends where you live.

I had Invisalign in college and it definitely gets so much better with time! I had mine for about a year and a half. The first days were horrendous lol but after a few days it gets far easier! Also, each new tray does hurt but it never was as bad for me as the first because the pain was so different! The taking off and putting back on is what makes it hurt so much worse.

It gets better though! And when you’re done you’ll be so happy it was definitely worth the investment! Especially when you don’t want traditional braces… I missed that window when all my friends had them in middle school/ high school lol!

Invisalign made me far more confident with my smile after I finished because I had some minor crowding on my bottom teeth and while my top teeth were straight I had some minor spaces That I hated lol. Now I get so many compliments on my smile.  Without having to worry about looking like a teen in college :). I wish you all the best!!!

I had it! The pain with the first set of aligners was really bad but pretty much every one after that was way less! In the beginning, I would have really bad pain after putting them back on after eating, so I started just eating a huge brekakfast, skipping lunch and waiting until dinner. But even after a few days the pain seemed to level out. Nothing was as uncomfortable as that very first set, though!

I think that traditional braces are actually more painful. I had one segment of three teeth that they did put brackets/wires on for about 3 months and I thought those hurt worse. That actually makes sense to me because with traditional braces, they tighten them only every 6 weeks. With Invisalign, you get new aligners every 2 weeks so the change is more gradual and actually hurts less.

Anyway, I hope you will like your Invisalign and I bet you will be more comfortable soon! 🙂

I had traditional wires and the full “lube and ring” job.

SoonMrsCrocker2 :  I think mine were $5,000 (this was in 2004-2006, though) and my insurance covered maybe $3,000?

I don’t know if you’re in the US, but if you have an FSA, I definitely recommend using that to cover the portion that insurance did not, so you get the tax benefit. Also, having the payments spread out over the length of treatment made it pretty manageable even though I wasn’t making a lot at the time.

SoonMrsCrocker2 :  I paid about $4000 but you can go to a local orthodontist and get it priced out they should do a consult for free
