I’m curious if anyone has actually sewn their own dress. I’m a waiting bee who is planning on making my own dress (a sort of combination of these 2, the Claire Pettibone Sparrow and another one, the name of which I don’t know, but which I think was made by a designer called Les Habitudes). Post pics if you have them! 🙂

I wanted to. But i’m doing so much crafting already, (making all the center peices, all the bouquets, etc etc), and after pricing all the materials out, i decided to have one made from Dressilyme. Part of me wishes I had made my own, but since I’m adding extra beads/crystals/bow/lace to it, i’m getting my sewing itch taken care of without the stress of making it “perfect’.

@Creiddylad: can you please post links for these dresses for me? I love them! Or do you have them on pinterest so I can repin them?

@secondchances: OK, here’s the link for the Claire Pettibone website– to my extreme annoyance it looks like the Sparrow dress is no longer made. The one that they still make, that is most similar to the Sparrow, is the Madame Butterfly dress. http://www.clairepettibone.com/bridal/?cp=lookbook
And here’s the link for the Les Habitudes one: http://www.leshabitudes.com/singleImg.aspx?flNameQ=B0013.jpg&catNameQ=bridal
For some reason they don’t include that wonderful lace jacket thing anymore.
Have fun– poke around both websites and you’ll probably find some astoundingly beautiful other dresses, too!
