I bought my dress w/out trying it on.  Mine is a bit too small (no corset back) so I intend to lose some weight, or ultimately, get it altered.

If you’ve tried similar dresses on and liked them, I think you’re okay.  If you can, try on that designer’s dress so you know your size.  With the corset back, you can go up or down a few sizes, so I really think you’d be fine.

I wasn’t able to try my dress on either. The sample was WAAAAYYYY to small for me. I tried on something similar to it and it looked fine. But I really loved the dress so I took a leap of faith that it would be ok when it came in!

I agree that if you have tried on similar silhouettes then you should be fine.  The sample I tried on for the dress I ended up ordering was 4 sizes too small.  She somehow got me in it and it did nothing for me until she moved one half of the dress to line up correctly.  Instaneously my sister and I gasped and we knew it was the one.  It was tough though not knowing if it would really be ok, and I had quite a few wedding nightmares about it.  It was perfect when it came in though and I am in love with it!  So if you know you really love it and similar styles have worked for you, then go for it!

This exact thing happened to me!! And with a Maggie Sottero dress no less!! I wanted either the Fiorella or the Adorae. But I kind of knew right from the begining that the Firorella was for me. However, they only had it in a size 10…totally NOT my size. I tried on a couple other maggie dresses and even a sottero midgley gown. The corset is AMAZING!!!!! I tried on Kendra (which has a similar body style to my dress) and it was so flattering I can’t even describe! Trust yourself and trust sottero midgley. They know what they’re doing. I ended up ordering a dress I never tired on and it worked perfectly. I’m even getting alterations done to add a corset because I loved it so much from her other dresses I tried on.

My advice for you: try on some other dresses that have a similar shape to the one you want. Also see if you can try on maggie sottero or sottero midgley corset back dresses. You will LOVE them!!

I ordered Sottero and Midgley Mae without trying it on.  It had the sillouette and the amount of bling that I wanted.  I also love the Alabaster color that they show in the pics.  I finally found one to look at after I ordered it but it was a 6.  But after looking at it I know I made the right choice.

I love the Mae!! Alas I couldn’t try one on in my area.

I bought my Fiorealla in Alabaster and it’s AMAZING!! I’m getting some major alterations done to it like adding a corset, but I love it!! This is a crappy photo and my consultant was behind me fiddeling with the train but you get the idea:

There was no one within a few hours of me that had my dress, but it could be ordered. So I tried on dresses that had all the different elements of it. I am so excited for next month when it comes in!
