Who has purchased a ring without trying it on first?

My husband kind of did. I tried on one similar to mine except it was a double halo. I wanted a single halo, but I was only able to see pics of it. It turned out perfectly. Can you try on styles similar to what you want, even if it isn’t exactly the same?

I have purchased several rings online before trying on. I’ve only returned one I didn’t like. I was nervous also. Check the return policy.

My fiancé and I got my engagement ring online. It’s a very unique setting so I probably couldn’t have even tried on a similar one if I wanted to. And it’s perfect πŸ™‚ I was nervous too though!

My fiancé purchased my ring without my knowledge and I had never tried a ring on before in my life. I didn’t even know my ring size!

I always knew what type of ring I wanted, and I love it so much!

My SO ordered my e-ring online last night (ALERT!!! THE ring has been ordered!) As previous bees have stated, I tried on similar styles at local jewellers. With that said, I would research the return policy in the scenario you or your partner did not like the ring upon its arrival.

We purchased my ring online without trying any on and the only regret (although I think it’s minor & I go back & forth on it) is whether or not I should have had the basket/prongs in the same gold color as the shank. I went with a white gold basket and champange gold shank (& wedding band). The champange gold has such a lovely warmth to it that I wish I could see my basket/prongs with it because it would bring out the double talon prong detail alittle more but at the same time I love how my stones look like they’re floating on my band/finger.

I am not sure if trying on rings prior would’ve prevent my “regret” because I could honestly go either way and would end up thinking about the option I didn’t pick. I wanted to have both, ha!

I was going to mention this in your other thread, but you were so excited that I didn’t want to sway you. There are certain styles I love in pictures and on others, but when I put them on I was underwhelmed (princess cut and emerald cut 3 stone). I was also surprised to like certain shapes I never thought I would (marquise). Before committing, I’d try on a similar style if you can and really make sure you love it!!! Even if you have to go to a maul store; they usually have that style.

Yep just like above lol. He had my ring size and got a photo of my hand the online store he bought from could superimpose a ring on your hand so HE had an idea but I didn’t have a clue πŸ™‚

I’ve bought tons of rings without trying them on. Including all our rings from.previous marriage , and our current rings.  So Long As I Can Return OR Exchange…. I’m  ok with it

I did!! Mine was made abroad.

What I do recommend is going into a store and trying on similar rings and asking the size of the stones even measuring them. The size I thought I wanted when I tried it on (while out with a friend). I realised was too small and wouldn’t look right with another ring I wear. This made it really clear for me what size and ring I needed to get. I also realised I couldn’t buy exactly what I wanted in store so had no choice but to buy online!

I didn’t really get to try it on, but they had a similarly sized setting in stock, but it was about 2 sizes too small and barely fit on my pinky…but I did get to try on the wax mold with the stone sitting inside so I had a pretty good idea of what the finished product would look like.
