Ohhh I’m curious about this workout! DH and I have about 2.5 weeks left in the Insanity program and have been talking about picking up P90X after we’re done. P90X3 might be a better option for us… The long workouts are tough to squeeze in after a long day at work.

@SupermansSweetheart:  I am now on week 2 of P90X3. Week 1 was brutal! Have you started yet?

@hkinsley:  Warrior is an absolute killer! What did you think of the Dynamix? I started doing it thinking it will just be some stretching and yoga but it was hard work and I ended up with quite a sweat. I ended up taking a day of rest after that because instead of the 6 day workout I thought I was getting, I ended up with 7 and my body was quite fatigued. If you only have a few pounds to lose, then I recommend taking a day off between the weeks. Dynamix is 30 minutes of work!

@Mrs. Coyote:  I say go for it! Give it a try and if you like it, then you won’t have to worry about setting an hour or more aside daily. I now find that my evenings have enough free time for me to work out, shower, cook and still have some time to unwind before bed.

Ladies, for V-day Fiance said he’s getting me p90x3 – I want to do the doubles scheduled (2 DVDs a day) leading up to the wedding (4.5 months left – so this would be a good start, will have to find something else to do in that last month!).

I would love if you ladies kept me in the loop of how you’re finding the p90x3 and your results! I know it only came out about 2 months ago, so no one has done the full 90 days yet, but I’m dying to see results and how it compares with p90x.

@futuremrsk18:  Are you already pretty fit? Because they actually recommend that you only move onto the doubles after completing one round of P90X3 first. If you aren’t already super fit, I recommend you do just the normal P90X3. I have a reasonable level of fitness and the first week of the classic schedule was quite taxing on my body. The test group results are pretty amazing with the classic schedule so it should be fine if you just want to whittle off some extra inches and pounds.

I haven’t but I SO want to. I agree P90x original is way too time-consuming. I tried this great app called 7 minute workout though, and that is pretty good! It gets you sweating and your heart pumping.

@DesertLady:  uhm, what’s your definition of already pretty fit? lol jk – I have done a lot before, I did p90x a long time ago (4-5 years ago), I’ve been doing a bit of yoga, but no I’m really out of shape right now. I thought about doing the doubles because I have about 20 more lbs I want to lose and I really want to tone up a lot before my wedding and that’s only 4.5 months away. I don’t really have the time to do it once and then do the doubles after – if only I had gotten it on 12/10 when it came out, then I probably would have had the time! I’m just nervous it won’t be the results I want after only 1 round. I’ve seen people do p90x and insanity and stuff before and a lot of time they do multiple rounds before getting the results I would want to see on myself.

@futuremrsk18:  20lbs is not impossible in 4.5 months imo. You would just need to stick to the schedule and nutrition plan religiously. The lean schedule is probably best for your goals.

I recommend you do one block (4 weeks) of the lean schedule and by then if you are not seeing results, then switch to the double up schedule. That will still fit into your 4.5 months. Your fitness level will also have improved by then.

@DesertLady:  I know, I feel like my goal is just SO close but then somtimes I feel like it’s just so far away – and honestly, I want to look great for my wedding, but it’s more important to me that on my 30th birthday, I say that I am in the best shape of my life – and that’s in Aug. So, I hope to reach my goal by my wedding, but I hope to get even better than that after – hopefully p90x3 can get me there! How are you liking the workouts so far?

@futuremrsk18:  P90X3 will definitely get you there, you just need to keep at it. And how wonderful will it be when you reach your goal weight? And starting off your 30s looking better than you ever have before is sure to be a self-esteem booster!

As for me, so far so good. I have been working up  a serious sweat in each and every workout and I was sore everywhere after the 4th day of week 1. We will see how it all goes in week 2.

@DesertLady:  Thanks! DH mentioned wanting to repeat month 2 of Insanity, but I think I might just go straight to P90X3. It’s easy for him because he works from home and has a flexible schedule, but when I get home at 6-6:30 the last thing I want to do for the next 90 minutes is sweat my balls off hahaha. I had a 60 minute workout tonight and after a half hour I had totally checked out. I didn’t give it my all and because of that it felt like a big ol’ waste of time. P90X3 is sounding better by the minute. 😉

@hkinsley:  Give it a go and see how you like it. It makes you work up a sweat but I swear, those moves do some magic on releasing all the tension accummulated during the week. If you want to stick to a 6 day workout week and 1 day of rest, then I would recommend doing it after your workout on day six. I am going to try that at the end of this week and see how it works.

@DesertLady:  I tried it last night before my volleyball game and while it was kind of hard but not crazy hard, i felt much more lose adn stretched out at the end.  I think i’ll keep it in my rotation  😉
