I am just wondering who is doing their own wedding day makeup? I want to brave this task and I figure if Kate Middleton can do it, so can I.
I was going to go to a MAC makeup counter (since I love their products) and have them do my makeup and give me a how to and then just buy the products (I use concealer/lip gloss/eye shadow by them already) so I have some basics. I figure if I am going to spend $125 plus tip and tax on makeup I might as well just buy the stuff.
Who is taking on this wedding day task? Am I nuts for doing it?
My hair will be professionally down since I suck at that!

I will be! It’s not going to be anything fancy, though.

I did mine. I wanted to look like I do all of the time, and since I do my own make-up all of the time…well…. 🙂 I did splurge on some make-up though. I can’t say enough good things about Make-Up Forever HD!

@missjewels: I am! I don’t think your crazy at all, as long as you like doing your make up. I find it very relaxing, sitting down infront of my mirror and transforming myself LOL.

i think i might – i’m quite fussy and everytime i get a make-over there is something i don’t like! i will invest in some good products though because like you said, for that price i may as well have something to use afterwards. 🙂
and i’ll probably end up doing my own hair also – it’s super short so very little effort is required!

I’m back and forth on this. My Fiance wants me to do my own and I know I’m capable of it, but I’m worried that I’ll stress over doing it and I want my wedding day to be as least stressful as possible. On the other hand, whenever I’ve had make up done in the past they always put WAY too much on and that’s saying something considering I wear a lot of make up every day. I don’t want to look like a clown, but I guess this is why you do a trial, huh?

I will be doing my own. I’ve never liked it when someone else did my make-up, I don’t like other people touching my face, and it’s expensive. I will probably do like OP and go to a MAC or Sephora counter, try something new, and get pretty new products.

Uh, I do this for a living and wouldn’t even consider It.
Ive found an artist who will come to where we are staying and do both.

I did my own. I researched products and bought some nice stuff from Sephora, which I have continued to use. I was very happy with it.

I’m not doing my makeup because I don’t wear. I have no idea where to start, someone else has to do it…..lol.

so far my experiences with other people doing my make-up were less than satisfactory and I’m quite used to doing my own makeup and get complimented on it, it never crossed my mind to get it done somewhere

I’m thinking about it because I don’t have enough money to pay someone to do it, and the last time I had my makeup professionally done I hated it.

I’m not – I RARELY wear makeup (like, 1-2 times a month, when I am going out or for a special occasion, so I do not trust myself to do it, esp. since if I did, it would prob add stress for me :/

i did my own.
note: for long lasting wear, it’s not always about the products. it has a lot to do with the application.
