I’m doing one. I bought most of my containers from party city [in all sizes, from small to huge!, they were very cheap], and I got 11″ martini glasses from walmart for $11 each. I also got clear candy scoops from oriental trading & tongs from party city.

Our candy buffet is going to be quite large though. TONS of candies, chocolate covered nuts, brownies, cupcakes, cheesecake, truffles, and more! We’re going a little crazy with it.

Most candy has a 1 year expiration date, so I won’t be buying my candy until about 3 months out.

We are! My Fiance loooooves sour candy so we’re going for it. Its going to be a small one though, because its part of our larger dessert buffet. Our favors are small boxes where you can fill it with any of the treats at our table to go.

My mom found glittery boxes at Target for $1 a piece: (these arent the exact ones but similar)

4 silver, 3 teal.

Oh and we probably wont buy the candy until maybe a couple months before hand, and I’m totally going to try dollar tree first!!

I’m doing it! We have 120 people and already have all the containers/scoopers and stuff so just buying candy. I’ll probably order the candy a month out, so it’s delivered a week or two before the wedding? I haven’t asked my wedding coordinator about it, but I know I have a while!

@peachbaby4008:  Oh, I see you’re in Illinois!

Depending on what area you’re from, you might be close enough to drive to http://www.albaneseconfectionery.com/

They have TONS of candy, and you can taste each kind before you buy.

I go there a couple times a year, and it’ll be my first stop when buying the candy buffet candy.

@peachbaby4008:  Well, I’m doing cheesecakes and things too, so I got small and large plates, but I’ll list here everything I bought.

And these were my favorite! I liked that they were on little pedestals :

That being said, on my first shipment, there were a couple containers & plates broken, but i contacted customer service and they replaced them, so now I actually have MORE than I ordered.

And here’s a thread on the bee I made awhile ago stating where I got the stuff from :

I've been seeing lots of posts for candy buffet.

We bought different candy when it was on sale you can pick some up after holidays Valentines Day, Easter? It stays sealed on the shelf for a long time so you will be safe.

@peachbaby4008:  All of them that I ordered were pretty large, definantly big enough for candies to be put in them, and easily scooped out.

Our friends used some of our jars for thier wedding too, they had a simple one with salty and sweet snacks. We bought a few of the jars at a Bridal Swap and then I thrift store hunted for the rest.

Ooh I’m thinking about doing a candy bar! I saw all the stuff at Party City when I was there the other day, and it’s all just so cute… and cheap! I would get plastic bags and twist ties or ribbon to make it my favor also.
