I bought the Marisa 815 and I have heard that there is a Vera Wang that is similar, but I absolutely love it!  I didn’t even know who the designer was when I bought it, the boutique I got it from doesn’t tell you the designer of any of the dresses they sell until you say you’re going to buy it.  But I HEART my dress~

@SpicedWine: I saw it! And I was doing a happy dance around the room! I did think the blingy belt took away from it, as the waist pleating is on a diagonal. But I was thrilled to see someone say yes to my dress!

I was a bit curious when Dianne said it cost $1,400. I paid $1,700 (at Kleinfeld). :/

@37 Butter Knives:  I found this picture of the Marisa 825.  Is that yours?

@2dBride: No. My dress isn’t strapless (if you saw the episode, it’s the one Lindsay picks). A reseller (Your Dream Dress?) mixed up the style numbers of 825 (v-neck) and 810 (strapless). And because Marisa doesn’t publicize its gowns, this mistake caught on.

Here are the dress sketches. The true 810 appears to come with a detachable beaded belt with organza tails.

I’m so happy I found this thread!  I was wondering what the mystery was about these dresses — so hard to find pictures!

I think I found my Marisa dress but I wanted to sleep on it before I bought.  I can’t stop thinking about the dress so I’m getting pretty sure it’s the one!

My sister purchsed a 644 at a trunk show where the designer and owner were present.  Their gowns are fabulous silk gowns and I love them.  How I understand it is that the designer copies some famous gowns at lower prices and does not want them posted anywhere.  The workmanship is fabulous and I will probably chose one for me also.  I know that they are genuine and fit so very well.  The owner of the company was very nice but that trunk show was last year.

I purchased a Marisa dress and wondered the same thing. The store where i purchased it at told me that the Marisa designer is more of an artist and does not want her designs replicated or made into knockoffs. I love my dress and kinda like the idea that it isnt all over magazines and isnt a “well known” dress..its my own uniquely designed dress!!

I just got my Marisa dress today and I’m so excited about it! GREAT quality AND made in the USA!! 37 butter knives said: Randy from Kleinfeld says Marisa doesn’t spend any money on marketing, and that’s passed on to the customer. That is so great to hear. I was desperatly looking for a fab gown that was not made in China but was reasonably priced  and I found it today !  Great quality and buttons all down my back 🙂

Yay for Marisa dresses! I have the 754 (only been able to find pics of it on other brides on the used dress sites, and even then only a few) and I absolutely love it. Came in early, fits like a glove, and the lace is beautiful. My bridal shop confirmed the bit about Marisa skipping the marketing and making all their dresses in the US. Apparently they also love to get photos of brides in their dresses for their website, since they don’t hire photographers for dress shoots.

Hi All,

I shopped and shopped and shopped some more for my perfect gown. The first gowns I tried on were MARISA gowns and I LOVED them but because I wasnt sure aboue the designer, I wasnt sold on her. I ended up buying a Vera Wang gown and then 2 months before my wedding found this beauty. This dress cost me $2200 and I wish I just went with my gut about Marisa from the get go. The quality of the dress is amazing and it is so comfortable! I am so glad I changed my dress last minute… here are some pics. But anyone who is doubting Marisa, don’t…she ROCKS! She is a NYC based designer and her dresses can be found at Kleinfeld and other high end shops. The bridal consultant told me that MARISA gowns are great and not expensive because she does not market her gowns like other designers do keeping the cost down for us! Don’t spend a lot of money on your designer name brand gown…just try on a MARISA and fall in love!

@Greek-Bride:

Your dress is absolutely Amazing! I went dress shopping and tried on a Marisa dress. Again, I have not been able to find a picture of the dress I tried on or able to find another bridal shop that carries that designer.  Does anyone have any information or recommendations? I had a bad experience with the bridal salon that I tried it on at and I refuse to go back to them to try the dress on and give them my business. HELP! Any information on the Marisa Spring 2011 is helpful.

@SoonToBeMrs.U:

Are you ever in Massachusetts?  I bought my Marisa at Cristina’s in Andover Mass. They had at least 8 of her dresses and I had a great experience.

@SoonToBeMrs.U:

Where are you located? I can recommend stores in NYC and MD/DC/VA or you could check out Marisabridals.com and click on the retailers link to find one in your area. You can also call them and ask them what styles are new in the 2011-2012 season and they are happy to help you find what you are looking for.
