DH is a car and driving nut. He drives very well, but not necessarily very carefully. He doesn’t really speed too much, but he likes driving his sports car and taking corners quickly and such. I’m a very careful driver, I always follow all the rules.

Isn’t it terrifying? I am constantly stepping on that imaginary brake when I’m in the passenger side–doesn’t matter that it’s not there, I take it straight down to the floorboard, lol.

I would say I am. If you would ask him, he would he say he was.
He waits until the last second to hit the brake. I’m constantly thinking we are going to rear end someone when he drives

I would say I’m the better driver, and my DH has commented in the past that I’m a good driver. He says that I “trust the system” more than he does. He is kind of hesitant in his actions, which I find annoying at best, unnerving at the worst. He’s what you might call a ‘Sunday Driver’. He sits in the passing lane on the highway, which is embarrasing. He’s happy to sit in the left hand lane behind a bunch of cars, waiting for the person at the front to turn left, whereas I will just get in the right lane to pass them and avoid it all. I feel like I can judge perspective and speed of other cars better than him.
He also likes when people backseat drive – he and his mom ‘help’ each other when the other is driving. Like, they’ll check each other’s blind spots, and point out hazards ahead. It drives me INSANE, especially when they do it to me.
I will absolutely never ask for input from passengers, because my rule is that I should never have to rely on someone else besides me when I’m the one driving. The only time I might be persuaded to get help is if I’m trying to fit into or get out of a really tight parking spot. But I actually think I’ve only done that twice in my life. My best friend in high school relied on one of her friends to help her out of a spot and the friend did a piss-poor job of it. The car ended up scratching up against a pillar. My best friend was so angry, and I would be too, but I try not to put myself in that position to begin with.

In our 8 years together he has had 2 accidents and 2 tickets, while I have had nothing. So I’m better.

Definitely DH. I hate driving and have been in more than one at-fault accident (fortunately none in the last 5-7 years). I do NOT like piloting a multi-thousand-pound metal missile around, lol.

I am ..by far!
In the past 7ish years, my DH has caused two accidents & received 4 tickets (although 2 were included with the accidents).
He does not pay attention & it scares the living daylights out of me! I drive most everywhere simply because I like to eliminate his time behind the wheel ..you’re welcome haha.
