I want to be the breadwinner!  But I chose to be a teacher instead.  Still planning on writing a best-seller so I can take the title.

My guy and I were working for the same company making the SAME amount for awhile 🙂 But now he moved companies and makes a little more, but we still make generally about the same. He is now, technically, the breadwinner. And that is okay with me.

My Fiance makes significantly more than I do/ever will. We work in completely different fields–he works in finance and I’m in counseling/social work. Guess which one is valued more by society (in dollars at least, lol). I’m fine with it now, although it does make me uncomfortable sometimes that I spend his money–even though he says it’s our money–and that I can’t contribute as much as he does.

I’m the bread-winner, but Mr. DG has plenty of potential.  I’m just way ahead in terms of career establishment… and he’d rather be on the “daddy” track than the hard core career track anyway 🙂  He always has fun side projects that are fulfilling to him.

I love your posts! 🙂 He makes a little more than I do, so I guess you could consider him the bread winner…but if it weren’t for me & my job we’d be struggling!

I’ve been unemployed since I finished grad school, so that answers that.

When I do have a job, even at my full earning potential I’ll probably make about 50% of what he does. He’s a software developer. I’m not complaining. Well, I was complaining when he got his first job offer out of undergrad making twice as much as I was hoping to make with my masters, but not anymore.

he will make significantly more money than i ever will. I wish we were more equal in that regard but its just not in the cards.

i’m working on my “Jump to Conclusions” mat or playing the lotto so i might be the breadwinner!Tongue out

we were tied, but now he makes quite a bit more…some of it might have to do w/ age, though, since usually people still are the same age or man a little older

not to mention women still only make like 87 cents or something like that for every dollar men make for the SAME job, ugh

Right now I make about 50% more than he does, but it will climb to be 300, 400, maybe as much as 1000% more if I advance at my law firm. He is in non-profit work.

The ONLY problem with this is that I really want us to have the ability to live off of one salary for a period of time, if anything happens. With our starter home, either of us can pay the mortgage and the bills on our salaries. However, I just don’t think he will ever have the salary to cover my dream home. That will probably just mean we will need to save a decent chunk and get good disability/life insurance for me.

We are in the same industry/career track and right now we make the same… I wouldn’t mind if he made a bit more than me but I like that we both contribute significantly on the financial front.  We need both salaries due to being in a high cost of living area, and will always both need to work unless someone’s career majorly takes off.

I picked “both almost the same” because even though I make more, it’s only slightly more (about 8K). Soon Fiance will pass me though! His career path (accountant) has a lot more room for advancement than mine (engineer).

We work at the same company. We started the exact same day, in same position, maing same amount. Raise time came and I got a better raise. Five or six months ago I got promoted and I make a lot more now.
