Is there someone who you can’t wait to be related to, or someone you wish would just….not be around quite so much (or, both?).
I’m not engaged or married but when I was with my ex, I loved his entire family. And it’s a BIG family, too — 28 people across three generations. There really isn’t anyone I didn’t enjoy being around. Even after we broke up they still treat me like one of their own.
How about you? Who is your most (and/or least) favorite from FI/DH’s family?

My favorite is his sister-in-law! She has become one of my best friends and I’m so excited we will soon be related! 🙂

My favorite in-law is my sister-in-law! She seriously stepped up on the wedding day and treated me so well! She bought breakfast, hung out at the salon with me and my mom the whole day, and she helped bustle my dress and take off my veil at the reception. Plus, when we got home from the honeymoon, I found a package waiting for me… a bunch of her old clothes! She buys really nice, expensive stuff, so I was super excited about that. Sigh, I love my SIL!

My favorite IL is my father-in-law, hands down. I don’t have a relationship with my dad and my Father-In-Law is everything I think a dad should be. It’s been great having him around, so I get to experience that kind of relationship first-hand.

My favorite is my husband’s nana! She’s 94, still has her mind, and is hilarious!! She’s such a sweet woman!!!
My least favorite is either my Father-In-Law or my Husband’s uncle. His dad just drives me nuts, and his uncle creeps me out…

I love all of my future in-laws! But my favorite is probably my Future Mother-In-Law. She’s the best!

I have been very very close with my FIs family for many years, and heres why. his sister is my BEST FRIEND! I am so excited to be her sister-in-law. My Fiance also has another sister and a brother who has a wife (and as of today a new baby girl!!!!!!!!!!!) and I am so excited to be related to them too! its a wonderful family! yay!

I have a great relationship with my Future Mother-In-Law. I don’t get to speak much with my Future Brother-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law but I know that will change in the future.
Unfortuantely, my least favorite is my Future Father-In-Law. This will sound mean but he is a pathological liar, a dirty man with a horrible past. The only reason his past isn’t his future is because he is disabled and can’t do what he has done before. And because he is disabled he is living with us so I get to see his face EVERYDAY… Ugh! But my Fiance could not let him out alone to die so he took the responsibility of taking him in and I am so proud of my Fiance for that even if we will never have a great relationship with my Future Father-In-Law. Such is life.

I don’t think there are any future in-laws I really can’t stand. Mr Spin has a couple deadbeat cousins who make poor choices, but we don’t see them all that much (for a reason ^_^). I think my fave is my future Father-In-Law. He’s awesome and really funny and laid back. Mr. Spin’s mom and sister are awesome, too, though.

Hmm, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I love all of them in their own ways, and have things about all of them that just tick me off. My Mother-In-Law is probably the easiest to talk to… she is very sweet and easy going, supportive, and good at backing off and letting us be grown-ups. 🙂 My BIL is sweet too, but he’s just kind of awkward right now… he’s out on his own for the first time and has no friends, basically (military, waiting to get to his first base to actually make friends) so he calls CONSTANTLY (and seems to just instinctively pick times when we’re playing Twister) and just sits there silently on the phone waiting for you to say something. My SILs are funny… they seem to be on a pendulum for how much I like them. First it was the younger SIL that I liked and I was super intimidated by the older SIL. Now the younger one is 17 and going through her "Everyone/thing is stupid and lame and SO annoying" phase which just makes me want to shake her, even though I know I did the same thing at 17. 🙂 And the older SIL and I still have rough spots, but it seems like since the wedding she has realized that we are stuck together and she might as well like me. She moved to within three hours of us so we visit each other on long weekends and I think the extra time together is really making the difference.
As to the extended family… heh. I’m glad they’re extended! The uncles and aunts are not bad, and I’m sure his grandparents are very lovely (certainly very generous) people, but after a conversation with his grandma where she told me that my brother was abusive and self-destructive because he was jealous of me (WTH??? he actually gets along best with me of anyone else, he NEVER struck me) I am not going to be opening up again anytime soon.

Favorite is my Future Mother-In-Law. She’s a gem. Least favorite is my Future Brother-In-Law. He is an idiot who has made some serious mistakes of late that have affected the whole family.

I love my Future Mother-In-Law and all of her sisters, they are spunky, sweet, great girls! I do not care much for some of FFIL’s brothers- they can be condescending to their wives, that crap doesn’t fly with me!

FI’s sister and I have never gotten along, ever. She is a year younger than me but she’s just really superficial. She started spreading rumors about me when Fiance and I first started dating (high school rumors are vicious!) and has threatened violence if we ever break up. I do not see us ever getting along, and I consider myself a pretty easy person to get along with!
That said, our families are both kind of quirky and while Fiance and I get along great, we don’t really agree with our families points of view very often.

I love all of my FI’s family, but my Future Sister-In-Law especially rocks! We get along just like we were real sisters. i can’t wait for it to be "official."

I love T’s family..his parents, his brother and his sister in law (and their new baby too!) but his mom rocks! She has alot in common with me. She was a biologist (I was biology major and also pre med in college prior to going off to do what I do now in medical field) and heavy duty! She was a college professor and also worked at Woods Hole (is that right) oceanographic institute. She even had a gator for a pet! And a wild GA mountain cat (part lynx we think). My son thinks she is the coolest lady ever.
