I’m 36 weeks pregnant as of yesterday! If you’ve read my previous posts, the docs thought that Baby Sailor was a boy and then found out in December it’s a girl!
We still can’t figure out a name!!!!!!!
My husband decided on Arielle Sophia. I loved it. Then I woke up the next day and hated it!!!!!!
I’m so hormonal.
What do you think about it? How long did it take you to figure out a baby name??

@LuvMySailor: FORRRREEEVVVERRRR. Seriously took till the end of the pregnancy to decide on our girls name.
We decided on Faith Winifred (:

@LuvMySailor: Great choice!! Very pretty name!

@figgnewton: I’m 22.5 wks and we’ve had our names picked out since 12-13 weeks. I guess I’m in the minority. Our boy name was super easy to decide on and our girl name just came to me one day and Darling Husband said he liked it 🙂 We won’t know which we are using until June though since we are team green.

@LuvMySailor: I think Arielle Sophia is beautiful! I imagine it will take us forever to choose a name, too. I am still only 21.5 weeks (who’s counting? lol), but we are nowhere near choosing a name. As in, we talked about it on Saturday for about 10 minutes, and that’s it. It’s hard!
(@figgnewton: I also love Faith Winifred! I’ve always liked Winifred.)

When I found out I was pregnant, we instantly started thinking about it! One day, a name came to me and I said what about Malaya if its a girl. I had never heard of it before (she is 2 now). We looked it up and it is Hawaiin and means Star of the Sea. We loved it instantly. Her middle name is after my mom, Michelle. So, her name is Malaya Michelle. To this day (she is 2) now, I don’t know anybody that has her name. We like that! Original.
Now, if we were to have a boy. Sheww…we couldn’t agree on ANYTHING. Things he liked I hated and vice versa. HAHA! I still have no idea what we would do!
We say all the time, The Good Lord knew what he was doing!!
It will come to you!! And you both will love it!!! Good luck!!!!

I told my husband to let my hormones die down and bit. I’m going to start calling her that to see if it fits.

I stress about this and I’m not even pregant!
I don’t think you need to make a final decision instantly. Choose your favoruite and a back-up, you might feel when you finally get to see your new bubba that she isn’t an Arielle at all! You then just have to make sure you have decided on that first day really.
If you haven’t already, there is a website called Nymbler that suggests names similar to those you already like. Might be worth a visit.

@LuvMySailor: Yes good idea! make sure you it flows for you and that you like any nicknames that pop into your head for it 🙂

Name her Steve. She’ll be one unique little girl. 😉

@LuvMySailor: Arielle Sophia is pretty! Give it a day or two and see how you feel. My Darling Husband and I ultimately decided by both downloading a baby name app to our phones. We each saved our favorite names to a list and then exchanged phones haha! We both got to cross off the names we didn’t like off of each other’s lists and went from there. I’m very sure about our boy’s name now, but I have woken up once or twice and briefly hated it!

It seems like it’s really hard for some people. I know I will find it hard to make a decision. My best friend had a name picked out for her little boy before they conceived so it was easy for them. My other friend has been discussing names of her son for ever! She had the baby over a week ago and he still doesn’t have a name.
Fiance and I already have a girls name picked out. If we have a son we are going to be in a world of pain as we are fiercely opposed on names for boys.

@FauxBoho: I had names picked out too!
I always liked the name Aminah. It’s Arabic for “trustworthy”. I swore up and down my first daughter was going to be Aminah Camille hahaha.
When I became pregnant, I wanted something else.

Choosing a name that we will be with your child for the rest of their lives can be very stressful! I know! Especially considering that one’s names can have an impact on your whole life. Just do your best on balancing the stress. Arielle is beautiful.

Arielle sounds beautiful!
We’ve had our girl name picked out for ages, but it’s been SUPER hard keeping it quiet. I just want to scream it from the rooftops, but no, we’re holding it in! 🙂
