Ahhhh sorry I just had to share, since I don’t know anyone in “real life” who shares my obsession with Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but I know someone here will!
My grandma loves live classical music and she is paying for us to hire a string quartet from a local college to play during our ceremony. I love all of the traditional wedding songs, but we’ve been to 5 weddings already this year and I’m getting tired of Canon in D and Air on the G String… So i’ve been racking my memory trying to think of other nice songs to play for the processional.
And then it randomly hit me: ask our string quartet to play “Moon River” for my processional! I searched for it on YouTube and found a ton of recordings of different string quartets playing Moon River, and it sounds amazingggg… Here’s one version:
Sorry, so random but I am now so excited!!!! 🙂

OMG love the idea! I love that movie so much! I told Darling Husband about the opening scene
and how much I love it… sometimes I walk past the (Canadian version of Tiffany’s) Birks just down the street from my office and daydream looking in the windows. It actually looks just like Tiffany’s in the movie too, marble and limestone facade, huge windows, elaborate entrance… here’s a pic
I also told him about the super cute shopping scene:
So he took me there as part of our first anniversary celebration, and bought me a ring! It was a *little* more than $10.00 though 😉

@yellowlace: Fun! I’m glad you found a place for it at your wedding! 🙂
@MissNoodles: AWwww!! I LOVE the shopping scene, it makes my heart melt, especially when they try on the masks. My Fiance and I went to NYC for New Year’s last year – he proposed in Central Park on New Year’s Day!! – and I insisted on having breakfast at Tiffany’s. We bought some macarons and walked over to the flagship store on Fifth Avenue.
We also stopped by Holly Golightly’s apartment haha:
