My FI and I met on an online dating site (Lavalife) 4 years ago. I did alot of online dating before I met my Fiance and I always made a point to talk to any guy I was interested on the phone before we would meet in person so I knew if I could keep a conversation with him or not. Well the first time I talked to my Fiance I was really not interested. You see my Fiance has a bit of ADD so he gets distracted very easily so the phone is not a strong area for him. Needless to say I decided not to go on a date with him but we kept in contact via MSN. I dated a couple other guys all the while keeping in contact with my Fiance and did use him as a sounding board for the problemes I was having with the other guys I was dating. Finally after about a month of talking with my Fiance on MSN and after a bad break up (he dumped me via email) I finally gave in and went on a date with my Fiance. As you probably already guessed it all worked out and we have been inseperable ever since.
Did anyone else meet thier future husbands online? If so where did you meet online?

Yep, we’re a Match.com success story! We were actually both very skeptical of online dating, so neither of us had tried it. But after just a few weeks for me, and only a week or 10 days for him, he “winked” at me… and the rest is history! We found out that we lived about 2 blocks away from each other, even. After our first date, we were instantly smitten (actually, we like to say that we fell in love before that first date — through our emails!). We honestly feel like it was meant to be, and online dating gave us the route we needed in order to find each other!

Me me me!
Fiance and I met on The Onion/Salon.com dating website. It is a site that caters to people who aren’t looking for something serious. I was going on two or three dates a week with new people and having a great time, then he came along. We had such a good time, I cancelled my upcoming dates to see him more often and, whoops!, we fell in love.
We were actually talking about it the other day, and he was nervous about sending me a note because I had just turned 21 and was still in school. He was 28 and owned a house. But he liked the books I listed and really liked that I listed myself as interested in “casual dating” and “up for anything.” So it was my, um, loose ways that got me my man.

My HUSBAND (still can’t get used to saying that!) and I met on EHarmony just under 2 years ago.
We were matched on Thursday, went through all the steps super fast and had our first date on Friday. We’ve been inseperable ever since!

i technically didn’t meet my fiance online, but it’s kind of a funny story. i met a guy online and we dated for a few months and then were friends for a while after that. in that time, i met and became friends with some of his friends (i was new to chicago when we met). my fiance was actually one of my ex’s coworkers. so i like to think that it was fate!

Ya! I love hearing about how people met especially when it is online! @ Meggyo that is a super cute story! Eharmony and Match.com wasn’t very popular when I did the online thing so I never got a chance to try them but their commercials fascinate me.

We did too! Match.com. We both signed up on Jan 1, 2007 and both went on 2 dates with 1 other person before finding each other about about a month after signing up. We talked a lot on aim before meeting and I told my (now) Maid/Matron of Honor “I’m either going to marry this guy or he’s going to break my heart.” Lucky for me, it was the first one. 🙂

I met my Fiance on “Nexopia” which isn’t a dating site haha. For those of you who haven’t heard of it – it’s similar to facebook, except you are talking to mostly randoms, but can have some of your friends on your “friends list”. You have a page about yourself, and since I’m quite nosy, I signed up for something called “Nexopia Plus.” For 20 a year, you could see who visited your page. My Fiance happened to look at my page, but didn’t say anything because he’s so shy. So I went to his page and thought he was cute and sent him a private message saying “cute” and the rest is history.
